Hello I'm PRG04. The username was derived from my '04 GTO that got me hooked on the forums. I'm 26 and I am currently on my 4th classic Cadillac, a 1968 Coupe DeVille Convertible. My first car was an '83 Olds Regency 98 (the Oldie). Everyone thought that it was a Cadillac, and she spoiled me with all the power options so that there was only one place to graduate from there: My 1976 Fleetwood; A tripple black Brougham I named the Titanic. She would teach me how expensive it is to work on your own classic Cadillac. I fixed her up beautifully while I was working at a shop changing oil and handing out wrenches earning low wages until finaly, she left me stranded on Christmas eve with a bum rod. I couldn't afford a rebuild, so I gave it to the tow-truck driver for his son; that they could have a father/son project together - and besides, it was Christmas. Unforunately, he died less than a year later, and the car was crushed (how's that for hind-sight). I then had a '71 Coupe (Coupe DeHoopty) that I turned into a gentleman's hot-rod: 375hp 472, Edelbrock intake,3-angle/milled/ported heads, headers, cam, and dual 2.5" Flowmasters. I blew that engine racing a Stage I wagon (turns out that his funny-looking air cleaner was stock on a Wildcat with dualquads - good one, but I knew it didn't go to that car, Sneaky). While I was in the Navy I bought an '80-something Seville with a fifth-wheel trunk, factory wires, and a spun 368 that I had intended to put a hard-hitting 425 into until I saw a '68 in an ad for only $3k out of AZ, and the Silly was sold. It turns out that the pics of my '68 were from a restoration done in the mid-80's, and I felt I had been robbed when I finally returned from my duty in Japan. I haven't had the time, money or tools to work on her much in the last couple/few years, but it's fully optioned 375hp 472, bucket seats, and cruise still sitting under a $300 car-cover in Huntsville. I'm just not inclined to take on a full-blown restoration like it needs, eventhough I do love the old body style with the newer 472 (that's what made me want a '68 rag-top so bad). I've got pics somewhere, and she might be for sale to a good buyer at a good price *nudge*. Well sorry to post long, but my passion for the Caddys shines through sometimes. See you guys around, and a special thanks to the great staff that helped me overcome my computer illiteracy.

The newer ones, or the older ones. I am trying so hard to coerice my dad into buying me an 05 or 06 GTO. I don't think I am doing well though! :(

If he drives it, he will buy. The 06's are being given away. 0% for 72mos, + a big rebate and incentive. It makes the '06 the exact same price as what I paid for my used '04 - and we don't have to talk about what I paid for my new '04 when I had it. I love them all both old and new. They are both based on reletively mundane-styled coupes with suprisingly high performance engines. Either way you go, you can't go wrong.

Yes, Sal; and it was you that I was thanking for helping me overcome my computer illiteracy. I've had a great time on here. The only problem I'm having, is that I love these cars so much, and I've read-about/worked-on so many that I feel like a post-hoe :bighead: . I've got free advice by the bills. Thank you everyone for making me feel very welcome. I e-mailed a fellow member to post some pics of my GOAT I'll link up when they post, but meanwhile I think I located the CD with the pics of my '68 DeVille - in someone else's glovebox - in Dallas. I may have those by next week. :bang2:

CaddyCruiser helped me figure out how to post some pics, so here's the GOAT, and I should have the CD with the '68 on it tonight.

Nice pics indeed! What I love the most is it is a very small car for the engine size, and the engine alone is worth 85%+ of the price! Lots of cheap performance.

Don't feel like a post-hoe! Its more fun than anything.
