Koooop 11-14-06, 02:03 PM I think the horns are in front of the radiator up high, they are hidden by a plastic cover that goes from the Radiator to the front of the car and is the width of the car? Just takes a socket and a few minutes to check. I've managed to get rid of the speedo squeak on a few SDV's by having the speedo cable greased. I'm going to try it on my '73 Eldo in a few days. Right, behind the grille bolted to the top plate. Kind of a pain to remove unless you remove the grille or have extremely long arms. Lubriplate grease for the noisy speedo cable is the first thing I'd try, assuming it's not damaged of course. Johnny Bravo 11-15-06, 01:34 AM That's where the horns on my '79 CDV are. By the way, how rare are the special trumpet horns? I have them. That depends, is it a real trumpet style horn and some regular horns, or just a combination of three or four standard horns. Cadillacs in the 60's and early to mid 70's were available with a real trumpet horn, and many had them. In later years the "trumpet" horn option was reduced to multiple regular horns. They still had a great sound however. Nowadays, The Cadillac horns sound like something befitting of a Chevy, way to go GM. :bigroll: Koooop 11-15-06, 12:52 PM Right, behind the grille bolted to the top plate. I have very long arms, I even installed a wolo 6 trumpet air horn in that space without removing the grill. Everyone with an SDV needs the theme from the Godfather blasting at 118 decibels. It's also fun to get more Cadillac horns and ad them to the special trumpet horns, when you get up to 8 it sounds like a freight train! | |
