View Full Version : My New 2007 ESV I ordered a new 2007 ESV back in June. It was delayed for a couple of months because of the restraints on 22" wheels combined with the information package. I'll be honest in saying, I lost interest in waiting and bought something else. I absolutely hated it and as luck would have it, the dealer still had the one I ordered (which was delivered in August) - so I ended up getting it afterall.
I must say, GM hit the mark this time. This isn't just a dressed up Suburban as I was expecting. I love just about everything about this vehicle. The ride is a little rougher, but I ordered the 22" wheels, so I wasn't expecting a DTS comparable ride. A bit disappointed about the usual: no telescopic steering, no bluetooth and the third row doesn't fold in flat - but those weren't deal-breakers for me. What might have been though is the incredibly loud exhaust. Nothing sounds better than a small block GM motor, but good lord, the thing is almost too loud when inside the cabin. Hopefully I'll adjust to that. The steering also feels a bit unstable - though I think that may be attributed to tire pressure.
Other than the above, I'm very very pleased with the overall quality and fit-and-finish of the vehicle. An awesome all around vehicle! :) MRANT212 11-11-06, 03:44 PM It is an awesome truck and my comments are the same. My wifes ESV has the chrome 18's and althought the 22's look better and fill the wheelwells better I must say the 18's provide a much better ride. As far as the exhaust sound...I think its great....Almost sounds like my 71 Big Block Vette :) Superior Cadillac 11-11-06, 05:33 PM The New 2007 Escalade is great. I am glad you enjoy it. Please let me know if you ever need anything. I will be more than happy to order you a vehicle and get it to you right away. Superior Cadillac,
Do you know anything about an OEM bluetooth integration module for the 2007 Escalades? If not could you do a little investigating for us? If so are you able to post a GM part number?
It's talked about briefly in this post here: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-escalade-ext-esv-forum/66014-bluetooth-coming-soon-2007-escalades.html?highlight=bluetooth+integration#pos t602214
We'd love to get some clarity on this, and we're hoping it's a nice plug n' play option right into the OnStar module.
Your help is appreciated. Thank you. Superior Cadillac 01-02-07, 07:55 AM I heard something was in the works.. We ordered on but have yet to see the part... As soon as I get one I will post it up here. Superior Cadillac,

My dealerships service people told me it will be some time because of all the problems they have had with the STS's, don't know if it's true or not Thanks. Hope to find out a bit more today at CES in Vegas. Superior Cadillac 01-11-07, 02:54 PM I am glad everything is great.. I ordered a new 2007 ESV back in June. so is your new caddy problem free? I leaning towards getting one. benamaster 01-11-07, 07:10 PM so is your new caddy problem free? I leaning towards getting one.
I think he is still deciding or going to order one. I do hear the new ones are alot more refined than the first run ones. The one I was referring to in this original topic is certainly not problem-free, but to be fair, upon a lot of research, talking to dealers and other customers, I think mine was the exception not the rule.
My replacement unit is being ordered tomorrow. I have high hopes for the next one. From what I understand, although my first unit was built in August, one built today should contain all the "bug fixes." GM gave me the choice of pulling one off the locator or having one built. I chose to have another one built as I have to assume most of the first model year issues have been resolved now. Here's hoping. :) The one I was referring to in this original topic is certainly not problem-free, but to be fair, upon a lot of research, talking to dealers and other customers, I think mine was the exception not the rule.

That is what I did, I think you made the right choice rather than take one that was sitting on a lot somewhere. :) Keep us updated on any probs,I think thats the way I'll go getting one built.Hopefully the bugs are gone. benamaster 01-12-07, 06:22 PM Same here, Did you get the Power Running boards? I'm thinking about getting those on my ESV, not sure if they'll hold up. It wasn't available on my first ESV - I'm really not sure yet on the replacement unit. I'm actually just trying to decide on color and whether or not I want the power running boards. I didn't like them at the dealer and I've heard that unsuspecting people get their shins banged up and such. The wife likes them. benamaster 01-12-07, 06:52 PM Thats what I hear about them too. I'm not that slender and I'm afraid I'd break it. They are no where near as solid as the Navigator ones. Its just the cool factor, being tall though I don't always use the running board though. Falkolade 01-12-07, 10:47 PM i would go for the pwr boards... at worse i heard they can ice up in the winter... i like them for the cool factor... gm may even throw them in for you since your getting a replacement unit!! They said they would put them on at no charge on the replacement unit. I also wonder how sturdy they are, I'm not a mountain of a man as well. :) | |
