Equals a happy northstar driver! Woot. NGK plugs, and wires, massive improvement in throttle response, gas mileage, and overall performance. Also no misfire at startup! Recommended highly.

Soo you're telling me that you aren't running A/C Delco plugs and wires? That is frowned upon here. lol!

I'm interested. What part #'s you got for us?

I too am a sinner! I am running NGK TR55IX Iridium plugs on my '01 DTS. Runs better than the stock plugs, which by the way, were Denso not Delco.

This isn't going to turn into one of those "The Earth round and not flat?" things is it? If so, I'll be mad I just spend so much on delco.

11-08-06, 03:55 PM
The Earth is FLAT I tell you. I'm not brand Loyal so NGK is probably what I'll get and the Delco wires will have to work since Magnacore/Accel/etc..don't make specific sets for our cars unless somebody knows of a set that will work.

magnacor makes a set for the N*...

Those prices are much higher than delco.

Yeah, but the red plug wires are worth at least 20hp

Yeah, but the red plug wires are worth at least 20hp
Yeah right. But if you mixed those low resistance high voltage wires with a set of Accels 45k volt coil packs and some corectly gapped NGK iridium plugs and had it tuned with Westers chip it could be good for over 40hp at the crank. Mind you that is all the previous parts and the chip combined. Maybe even more power is a possibilty with a good dyno tune but we will have to see on that one.

Yeah, but the red plug wires are worth at least 20hp

They have a lifetime warranty and you get some cool stickers too! I had them on my TurboCoupe.

11-09-06, 04:34 PM
Stickers? Oh man.... then scratch that... the red plug wires and stickers are worth at least 40hp combined.

11-09-06, 05:38 PM
Can't vouch for the stickers but A/C Delco wires have a lifetime warranty also.

Might not be the brand switch in plugs...might just be the new plugs that make the engine feel better :)

Also when doing your "plug wire inspection" to check them for resistance, you can order individual plug wires from the dealership. Cost varies by wire but if you only have two bad ones, 20 bucks is better than 100 or more for the full set.

I'm using Napa brand wires, lifetime warrenty, $110 canadian, couldn't go wrong. Plugs were G-power platinums, 2 for $7.65.

Guess how far the gap had opened up on my old plugs? I really should take a picture. They are 2 tenth's bigger than my new properly gapped ones. :)

so, the link to that list of cadillac wires available by magnecor didn't include my 02 sts... does this mean they don't make them for my 02 sts or i should use the 98-99 seville wires they do supply?

02-05-07, 06:09 PM
Umm... you don't have plug wires.

Orignal OEM parts. AC Delco all way round... end of discussion. K_C

i thought the engine compartment looked a little cleaner....

2000 Northstars went to COP (Coil On Plug) ignition. No wires.
