I am sorry you are dealing with pain, especially spine/back related pain, it sucks. There is no miracle pill that can be obtained without a prescription and a sympathetic M.D. 3 Weeks huh, know of a good acupunture specialist around your area ? Until some more permanent relief you'll just have to try and find that certain position with the least pain. As long as you don't have any Med interaction issues, a glass or two of your favorite wine won't hurt. How about a cyber smiley hug --

My wife started acupuncture. It worked so well the doc postponed her surgery indefinitely! Stay away from the knife if you can!

Take 2 daily doses of Saload, warm, orally. Then the Salpository prior to bed...should straighten you right out.

Not at all. My wife was in a lot of pain too. It was so bad she would have to lay on the floor. She has what is called a stenosis. There is a buildup of bone material on some of her vertabrea that is restricting the channel were the chord/nerves pass through. The surgeon wanted to do a lamanectomy to remove some bone.

Pain blocker right in the ole spine,feels sooooooo good afterwards.

Steroids injections work well. Spinal surgery is serious business, specially as it gets up near the neck. I have arthritis in that area and medication is $4,000 per month! I also have some lower back pain. I use Darvocet but Perocet(Oxycodin) works best. Heating pads help. 3 glasses of Chardonnay each evening helps too.

I pray Danielle your surgeon has gifted hands and makes you well.:thumbsup:

I hope the operation goes well, and that it fixes all your problems. Laughter is the best medicine, and I hope some of these posts *cough* Florian *cough* make you feel better. :D

Water therapy helps, in any form. Bathtub, hot tub, whatever. It promotes circulation, which may feels worse at first, but makes in better after. Medications are okay, but I am not the biggest fan of them (although I do drink like a drunk...).

Doing what you like is always the best for me. If I have a stomach ache, I take a drive in the car. Windows down, and some low volume music makes me feel great. If i have a headache, I sleep or eat some light but good tasting food. I always like to watch some good tv (movies or shows) if it won't make me feel worse.

Thanks guys....there is so much to try....I have a mass under a few layers and is lying on my muscles affecting my neck and back. Basically it feels like someone is pushing my back with two fingers constantly..and I have no range of motion in my neck. Im going to start with a drink...I tried pills last night and felt so sick...Im not taking them again.

One of the service writers at the dealership I work at has this virus where the sac around his heart is inflammatory (I think that's the word I'm looking for, it means it's expanded), so he can't take deep breaths otherwise the sac rubs up against his ribs and causes extreme amounts of pain. He's had it 5 days now, and he's been in the ER twice due to the pain. He was in the hospital for three days once on a Morphine Drip.

How is this caused you ask?
It's a simple virus that will only strike those that have had the cold or flu.

OUCH! Yeah I'm on the top bunk in my dorm room... I have yet to fall off sleeping but when I wanted to get down I jump on my roomie's desk. One time I slid off her desk and had a lovely 6-6.5 drop. My right ankle killed after that.

Our Marine recon squadron deployed with the USS Midway back in the early 70's. We used to watch the other boats forcing their way thru big waves as we cruised along smoothly. We bunked 3 high too - no relief there.

Ouch is right! Between both of our insurances, it's free for the wife. She goes once a week right now too.

$75 is about right. Worth every penny, according to my wife. Cheaper than long-term drug use.

I do acupuncture once a month. Best money ever spent. Plus I get my taint needled!

Some help on acupunctive: My wife says to find a chiropractor that does acupuncture and electrostimulation (easy F.). They can file acupuncture under electrostimulation and it should be covered by insurance. Verify first with your chiro.
