May be closely related to the Chevy spice, but this isn't a one off. More or less a production car, but highly customizable...

It's on the tip of my tougue. It's a "kit car" from Europe that C&D did a spot on a few years back. I sat in one of those things on the Power Tour a few years back too. It something like GSX, GNX, GXR, or the like. Powered by Chevy V8s, with the lowest HP rating of 350. The 350 hp car runs 0-60 in the high 3 second range and can be had for 50-60k (for the do-it-yourselfer).

interesting ...

cant wait to find out more about it ...

there was a few of this type of car built , one was the dauer , another was a lomax or something c1000 that was based off a benz sauber group c car ....i forget off hand how many dauers were made , but there was a few , some built from acutual chassis used in racing , something i dont like becuse some have a racing heritage that needed to be preserved ...

interesting tho . and really , a spice without a good heritage could go for as little as 30 grand and spend say 10 grand to make it streetable youd have something that could suck the doors off just about anything ....

well noble does one kit , mosler did another (which is acutally the latter day decndent of the counsilier)...

Im really anxoius to find out what this car is , becuse not much is really known about spice after allard bought it in the mid 90s and later went bankrupt after IMSA made a rule change makeing there invesemnt in the sucessor to the spice GTP series cars....

Ok , now that i have the final piece here ....

Here is Info about it that youll prolly never find anywhere else on the internet ....

The car started out life in in 1991-1992 as the Spice SE92 racecar which would be the closed top version of this car:
http://race-cars.com/advertsr/mwe/spices.jpg

In ‘91 Allard Holdings had acquired Spice UK. That led to Costas Los driving the second team car for Comptech’s Acura Spice Camel Lights team. During the ’92 season, while at Comptech, Los developed a close relationship with Honda of North America. At that time Honda, was investigating a move into GTP for the 1993 season........The prospects were certainly grim without any potential customers - and really no hope of any, with the IMSA GTP series in its death throes. Allard quickly slid downhill as funding and prospects dried up. Allard lasted until the end of the first quarter of 1993......Allard Holdings and all its assets were auctioned to pay the company’s debtors. John Iley: “I went to watch the auction of the car in London to close the chapter, £76,000 seemed a small price for all those hours of effort put in by the team.” Robs Lamplough was the purchaser of the car.

The car they were working on was this:

What i guess became Ultima (based in the UK) bought the tooling , molds and everything from them , but apprently had no interest int he new car and decided to build the GTR .....
