Put some light blue paint on there with some flames and some chrome dish hubcaps, and you've got the Merth Mobile!

Jeep once claimed that all their veichles were "trail rated" but this puts an end to it.

Not an off-road vehicle at all... Dodge Calibur chassis.

I guess you need something to level out the CAFE stuff if you want 500hp Hemi's in your Grand Cherokee.

I never really liked Jeep anyway...

Geesh, those cars bring back some memories, though. Memories of my parents yelling at me (in my early teen's) to stop making loud vomiting noises when I saw any AMC car. Hard to stomach then, even harder now.

What happens when you merge the Pacer and Gremlin?

I would rather have the Pacer and/or Gremlin (like my mother had back in the early 80's).

Damn front wheel drive Jeep. At least I was told it will be available as such.

The Pacer was intended to be way ahead of it's time with it's rounded shape, large greenhouse, longer passenger door for easy rear access, rack & pinion steering, new safety features, and originally planned for a Wankel rotary engine. However, GM, who AMC was going to buy the engine from, cancelled the Wankel project due to the inability of the engine to meet emissions requirements. It was downhill from there. The substitute I-6 engine was weak and didn't really fit under the hood (try changing the back two spark plugs). All that glass overwhelmed the A/C capacity plus it was new and heavy safety glass which made the car even slower and top heavy. The heavy passenger door tended to sag and break hinges. AMC dealer service was sub-par, even for the 1970s. Alas...
