So today while CaddyETC was changing his air conditioning compressor at his dad's friend's auto shop, I decided to browse around the lot of cars. So I stumbled across a crimson pearl ETC and a little gem that the owner of the shop is fixing up. Guess what the car model is!
Hint: It was manufactured in Bridgeville, PA

Once you see what this guy does to his cars, YOU WILL! He got Humphrey Bogart's wife's T-bird and restored it, that was NIIICE!

its a kit car based on a bug chassis , kinda like a Manta Montage , which was a car in the old show Hardcastle and McCormick...but it isnt quite a montage ....so its a kit prolly from the same company

I remember the owners call it a bug or something... probably what he meant by the bug

Really looks like a VW based kit car. It'll be interesting to see what the guy does to finish it off.

seems like mystery is solved, but i was going to say the result of breeding between a shelby and a lotus but that is lofty dreams for this car i think

Those "kit cars" were huge in the 70's - from Bruce Meyer's "Manx" dunebuggy to the Manta's and Avenger's, you could drop a fairly sexy looking fiberglass body on a VW Beetle or Corvair chassis, goose the drivetrain and suspension, and have a pretty swift little car. I'm sure the safety nazi's pretty well killed off the industry. Car & Driver and Road & Track were full of ads for them back then.

The company was called Fiber Fab
the doors handels are from a vette stingray

WOW.. That looks pretty nice! Although the rear end is sitting kinda high like it needs a northstar v8 in it or something.. LOL... The interior is way too ricey for me though.
