Here's a picture from my last track day at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA. It was a couple weeks ago. I ran on an Alfa Romeo club day (there were about 40 cars, 6 which were Alfas). It was a little wet out there in the morning from heavy fog overnight.

Sweet pic. Wish I was still in WA with you. There is no track action in south Alabama.

They're the stock wheels in chrome.

That's a beautiful shot... and you are a brave man. Be careful at the turn on the front straight right by the first grandstand (turn 9), that's where I tagged the wall hard in my Corvette earlier this year.

Wow, glad you made it out ok on that one. I saw an RX-8 crash just beyond turn 9 a few track days ago. He blew out the driver's side rear tire and that put him into the right wall. He bounced off it and went across to the dirt on the left side of the track. Drove it off - he was ok but the car suffered alot of damage.

I also shift from 3rd to 4th just after turn 9. I wait until I straigten the car out before making the shift. I know I'm losing a little mph since I'm holding 3rd but I've missed 4th b/f and started to let the clutch out into 2nd right around there. I think the g force to the left during that turn and our crappy seats put my arm at an angle to the shifter that was a little too much to the left. Thus, I started shifting into 2nd while thinking I was pulling straight back into 4th. A little scary and I'll be sure to learn from your unfortunate mistake!

That's the wonderful thing about the edgy Cadillac design. The different panels that reflect light differently make that pic HAWT! Definitely a top calendar shot.

My wife and daughter's definitely were as well. Other than a sore neck for a few weeks, I walked away from that without a bruise.

Nice job catching it on time. Until my wreck I hadn't really ever considered a missed shift putting me into a wall. You are a wise man holding that shift until after the turn.

Seattle,

There are some drag strips. I ran 12.9 @ 113 a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time temps were below 80. The car has much more in her. I either don't get traction or start hopping. I don't just mean on launch or 1-2. I hop on a 3-4 shift. Of course putting on a set of drag radials would help. On the 12.9 run I had a 2.2 60'.

I am still starving for road course or even some autocross.

Keep having fun and keep the shiny side up.
