Hi i just changed my waterpump, plugs, pcv, fuel filter, oil, egr valve and u joints.

Now the car misfires on one cylinder on the passenger side, its intermittent. Im thinking that it is only a wire since its only on one cylinder, but my fear is that it could be the opti.

What do you guys think?

thanks alot

Did this start doing it when you were done doing that work?....or is this why you changed the plugs?

mine was doing that, due to a bad plug wire. Although, I changed the plugs too, after I figured it out.....

I'd definitely guess a wire. The looms that hold the wires underneath the exhaust manfolds are sharp and metallic. Perfect place for arcing.

But you just changed the plugs? Gap is correct? What brand (some are cheap, stock Delcos are NOT cheap)??? Did you perhaps crack a plug during installation by accident? Maybe crossed plug wires accidentally?
I'd double check a few of the above things.

If you get a sray bottle of water and spritz the wires at nighttime you may be able to see some arcing if wire is frayed....

Your right, I didn't think of a crossed wire during plug install....

And yes, I bought cheapie plugs once....Only Once!

figured it out, i cracked one of the plugs. i doesnt run smoother with the new (bosch) plugs though...

I would skip the Bosch and go with stock AC Delcos that came with the car. They hurt the pocketbook at $5 each but are worth it. Good for about 100K miles of driving and really are the best plug for stock LT1 vehicles (i.e., no NOS or superchargers).

Dual Platiunum Autolights are also worthy, but that is it. They AC Delco and the Autolights are very similar in construction and materials.

I would guess it's arcing as well. Let the car idle with the hood up, if you hear a "clicking" that's probably it. You might even be able to see the arc jump.

Mine runs great with the Bosch ones. At least for now... I replaced my wires with lifetime belden wires from NAPA at the same time too. :)

The car runs ok with the cheapo bosch plugs, but not better than before. i guess the old ones didnt need changed.

My reccomendation: Ac Delco Rapidfires :)

I'v installed them into a number of cars from different manufacturers and they always result into a respectable performance boost.

Return the Bosch and tell them they actually reduced your HP.
