I'm doing the headgaskets on a 97 N* and need the timesert kit. Has anyone got a used one?. Looked on ebay and only saw a new one. There was a guy on ebay claiming he had a better solution several months ago but I locate him now.

I doubt you will find a used kit since once you install the timeserts themselves there is only the allignment and drilling parts left over. You would be better off getting the whole kit. Go to ++ TIME-SERT Threaded inserts threaded for stripped threads, threaded inserts, thread repair , stripped sparkplugs, sparkplug blowouts, threaded inserts threaded, repair stripped threads, stripped threads, inserts threaded inserts. (http://www.timesert.com) and you will find out where to buy the kit.

There are used kits available. The drill bit and tap should last for hundreds of uses. Just order the inserts you need.

I can't seem to find a used kit. I located fasteners at Wurth USA. They want 500.00 for the kit. Seems obsurd but then again once you accept the obsurdity of head bolts falling out of a supposedly quality engine I guess I shouldn't mind.
