Hi, I'm new to this forum, and wanted to say hi. I just bought a 2000 STS, black on black with sunroof! Oh yeah, all the goodies!
I also drive a 94 Concours and a 79 Sedan Deville with a 472.

Nice, welcome aboard. Ill look foreward to seeing your cars. The ones on your site are very nice looking. The thing i like about devilles is that they look slow and old people-y, but in reality they can keep up with corvettes :D . Very nice

I sold that on ebay to a guy in Germany, who fell in love with it when he first saw it!!! Last I knew he was very happy with it!

Well I don't mean new Z06 Vettes, or 427 or 454 powered ones!! My Moms 90 Vette isn't that fast!! I'm sure my Caddy could beat it! Hell, my new STS is faster!

well earlier c4s weren't that fast especially on the highway but c5 is another story

Stock vs. Stock, I think you'd be hard pressed to fine a Vette that you could beat.

I don't think it would be THAT hard....

good drivers do run high 12s/low 13s in 1/4 mi in regular c5

Yes, the C4's with the L98 engine (91-96 had the LT1) were bad up top. That's certainly the case with mine. There's no stock Cadillac that could come even close, though - off the line. Most cars don't.. So, in the quarter mile, the C4 Vette still wins.. But, half mile goes to the Caddy... 92 and up, I don't know about. The Vette would probably win in every case...

Good deal! It looks like my hopes of an '01 STS by next Winter are going to be easier than I expected. I was figuring $30k but it looks like I may get lucky and find one for $20k... Thank goodness for depreciation. :p Did I just say that? hehe...

Yeah, my best friend owns a 90 Vette with a L98 and I own a 2000 STS, never raced him yet, but I cruise with him, and his Vette would smoke a stock 2000 STS, his 1/4 mile times is 14.1s. But thats with a good launch. With a less than $1000 of performance mods, and some cheap tricks, I think you can get a 2000 STS to stand a chance. I still gotta race him though...
