Hey folks haven't really heard from me in a while, but I thought I'd give you an update...

Today is a good day. I got offered a job, a GOOD job today after my interview last night, and I'm accepting it and getting out of my current software sales job. I'm assuming some of you are in sales and some of you are in the technology field. This is my dream job, great base salary, great benefits, opportunities to make 80k if I hit quota and possibly way more if I work my ass off like I plan to. I start Monday I'm going to be selling a product called SQL Litespeed that is a compression software and compresses data in SQL databases so companies save boatloads on storage costs. The end result is the backup times are lowered and data storage costs are cut to 1/7 of the original costs. If anyone has questions PM me or respond. If you're interested go to www.imceda.com (http://www.imceda.com) but I doubt most of you are.

Now hopefully after 6 months, I can buy a classic caddy! Thats my goal.:bouncy: Before getting another caddy was a pipedream, now its my goal to make it a reality.

Thanks JJ. Do you mean residual income? (repeaters?) I think I might get repeat customers but not residual income like a financial advisor would get.

I'll keep a homey updated for sure. Where's Ralph and Brett and everyone else?

With my commision structure i have a goal that i have to hit to get my base commision. If i go over the goal my commision gets multilplied by how well i do. I can acually double and triple my normal commission and the other company i sell for i get a set commission per sale. Gotta love sales, great salary plus commision.
Ralph and brett are lurking somewhere

same here, if I go over a certain revenue closed my commission goes up a couple percentage points and if I go over that, it will go up again.

Congrats on your new job. Does your product keep the production database compressed or just compress the backup? If it compresses the production data, is there a performance penalty?

Given the low MSRP, are you an inside sales rep? Will you be handling large accounts with a lot of possible copies?

Best of luck!

Oh, pardon me, I was lurking and I saw this thread :p Glad you are doin' great!!! It doesn't even seem like work when it's something you enjoy. If only I could get paid to drive my car, oh well. I'm not in sales, but some friends are, and there can be some awsome coin in it as well!

What kind of classic Caddy you lookin' to get? Keep us updated, eh?!

Yeah. I'm not happy now at my job, its my last day so I strolled in an hour late :p

This new job will have great perks, allow me to make serious bills, and my sales manager seems to be a first class guy.

Last night a I worked as a bouncer at a Boston bar where I work on Thursday nights and I convinced this guy to talk to his IT Manager regarding the product Im selling. :coolgleam

Yeah I'm inside sales executive. In certain cases, if a company has 20 SQL servers, I'll be able to sell 20 licenses at x per.

I'm not 100% sure if it compresses the production data but I believe it has that capability and there isn't a performance penalty, but rather, a performance benefit.
