My friend just restored this original '70 Charger Funny Car. The headers are called "weed burners".... Running on 85% Nitro, I'd say it is loud!

We presented it for the first time to the public this last weekend in Bakersfield.

Cool? Or what?

This funnycar dominated the drag world that year. It raced in 7 race events and won all of them, and continued to win the US Nationals twice, etc. The first body given to them by MOPAR, was a 'full size', and also used in NASCAR. But the aerodynamics was wrong for drag racing, and it's first run landed the car UP-SIDE-DOWN through the lights at Pomona! This second body was re done for dragracing, and is called a "mini-Charger".

A blown Hemi, a cast-iron Keith Black 426, with about 2,500 HP( remember, this was 1970)

( I don't have the ET's, but the records were broken.)

The last time it raced was in '70 & '71. Sold to a guy in Hawaii, and raced 1 year, then sat in the weeds for 35 years.
My friend bought it 2 years ago, and spent a year & a half correctly restoring it. It is vintage-correct, so it does not race.

One of the most sought after vintage Funnycars in the world.
