thats the hot shit now

a simple beat, with some meaningless rap over it makes a good song now, play it on the radio and have a few big stars endorse it, and itll be the next hottest thing on the streets and on the radio

i hate this trend

chickin noodle soup
do you chain hang low (?)
all of young joc stuff

all simple minded meaningless excuses for rap

I thought simple-minded and meaningless were the prime criteria for rap?

Throw in a little disrespect for women & police, glorify the bling bling, and you have a huge hit on your hands.

best thing about do yo chain hang low is the beat. You're right not much meaning in rap anymore....at least not mainstream rap. Now go listen to some underground and you'll get a totally different view.

Okay, here is a problem I have been having lately. Why do rappers think it is ok to rap about drugs over Nursery Rhyme beats. Come on taking classics that are easily recognized by anyone who is nestolgic of their childhood to sell songs is just not appropriate. These are beats that our kids (dont have any personally) are using to learn the fundamentals of spelling, counting, manners, ect, basic skills. Any now we got Jibs, Ferggie, Joc and Jeezy rapping about counting grams and seducing the other sex over the same melody. I think this is the point when we really need to think what kind of message are we sending to our kids. When I was a youth Gangsta rap was popolar and as a result it was cool to be a gangsta. Now its trap rap about selling crack and getting keys of serious drugs for cheap. Are our kids listening this going to be more prone to dealing drugs? probably. Whats next? What if the next generation of rappers are crack heads and rap about blowing the glass dick, cus everyone thinks its cool to deal drugs there will be more crack heads in the world. Are we to expect a future of junkies? i do light weight. Yeah I endorsed rap for a long time saying its just music and not that big of a deal, but I was lying. It is very influential and scaring me in how it can influence generations in the future!!!! Whats next...dont really want to see unless its a change.

im not sure its gonna make a difference what beat and rhyme they are sampling.
Kids are gonna be influenecd by what they want to be influenced by. I don't totally disagree but still think parenting needs to change and good ole fashion ass whoopins' need to come back in style.

If you let music, video games and movies control your life, you have something else wrong with you. From what i seen in my life time media does not influence people. It's the way they live.

If you compare my cousin and me, it's night and day. I'm trying to do somthing with my life, he is happy being the weedman and working at the fastfood place.

Today's rap does suck though. No real message to it.
