1 No one is gonna affect the oil companys no matter how many voices and closed pocketbooks there are , feel lucky our gas is still a bargain when comapred to europe

2 whats ironic is everyone thinking "were gonna change the price of gas" is looking thru a chunk of plastic made from ......oil (last time i checked) oh and yes theres some sand and metal on there too ...

3 tires are made from oil too , nascar speedweeks at daytona went thru around 3-5000 of them , makes you wonder about all the other series , and all the street cars on american roads

4 in otherwords not selling gas isnt a big deal to these guys , they will just mark the price up on everything else that comes from oil

5 its scary how dependent we are on dead dinosaurs , the way i see it that wont change untill everything is sucked dry .....imagine the "plastic bottle rush" of the year 2885 when old soda bottles fetch more than gold

6 just my belifs , im sure someone will prove every one of them wrong , but remeber ive sufferd 4 concussions and im attending college , im not near as smart as i used to be as i had to make room for what some 7 figure earning basturd "thinks" i need to know (who needs a class called human sexuality)

Now, if synthetic oil is not real oil, its more like liquid plastic (so Ive heard) then why can't we just use the manufactured stuff (syn?) then we wouldn't be so dependant on the old forestation dino stuff. I thought syn was made for the WW2 shortage of the dino type, so why not do it again? Price, that's probably why.

Correct about the price going up, just like if they made us drive electric cars, they would just raise the price of electricity.

I believe there is enough dino oil in the ground, it's the environmentalists and bleeding hearts that have to be reckoned with.

I agree, and I think new technologies will be developed to replace dino oil IF and when it ever becomes depleted. However, I don't believe it will be in our lifetimes.

Stoney, you 100% correct about your number 7. We don't need people insulting anyone. :rant2: We can talk intelligently here and discuss theories, etc.

Remember what the French did a few years ago? When gasoline and oil prices started to go through the roof, they didn't just talk about boycotting the oil companies, they actually stopped all trafic right on the freeways!! Organized no gasoline buying for a while. Large trucking companies told the drivers to stop right at a certain time, cars did also. Remember the result?? It WORKED!! If I recall 2 days after this, the prices were back in the ball park! Many people like to knock the French, but damn, that kind of action took courage, which is what we lack in NA. We talk, but no action like this! Of course we NEED oil, but at least the French proved Elvis's post did have logic in it. :shhh: IMO.

well synthetic or not it all comes from regular old crude , its just syntisised to be beatter

think of it this way ,pre 1994 brittney spears is regular old school motor oil , a few techies took that brittney and sythisised it , makeing her sound and look beatter , like motor oil synthisising music makes some god awful tunes sound halfway decent , but like abba or kc and the sunshine band you can only go so far with the starting product , any way you shake them up you still have something that is overpriced and like abba we will find a sususitute one day
