.....ok, so this is a question that has been buggin me.... Now, I am wondering if there is a place, that you can legally drive your car at top speed...like a race track..not talking about drag race, but like an oval track or something.... where are they (if they exist for the public) how much would it cost, besides having tires rated for whatever speed, what ther things woudl you need? does it matter on the car? (DeVille?) etc... any info on this is cool.... I was thinking that maybe Watkins Glenn (Nascar) did something liek that, but havn't checked it out..... I just personally don't like the idea of going all out on a public highway... too many cops, not to mention not being safe..... and there HAS to be something like this, because, "technically" you can't really expect someone to buy a Corvette, Mustang, F-body etc... only to cruise at 75 on public highways, so there has to be some kind of a track..... anyone know what I am talking about, or am I making things confusing?

closest ive come is scca autocross , some coarses had sections were 130 was possible , but a cone dodgeing deville is a scary thought , but ive wanted to try mine to see how much of a arse i could make of myself with it

Lot of tracks have Track days you can enter and run as fast as you can/want on the track. Also theres a race in the west where you enter into differnt speed classes and you cant go faster than that class, but you can go that fast leagal on the highway. Like say your in the 150mph class, you cant go faster then 150, but you can cruse at 145 if you want. But its like 14k to enter. Also for us Tampa bay guys theres an oval in Bradington that holds fan races between races. You race aganst one other person around the oval, i think like 2 laps, and the winers from each race go on till theres only 1 winner left. I saw a turbo beatle win cause the camaro he was racing spun out.
