I have recently purchased a 2006 ESV. I have noticed that while driving the vehicle with the stereo turned down you can hear the navigation DVD spinning in the dash mounted unit. I do not want to make a special trip to the dealer if this is normal. I greatly appreciate your feedabck.

In my old '05 Denali and in my '07 Escalade, the Nav is always munching on the DVD, even when OFF ('07).

If the cabin wasn't so quiet, I'd never notice it. Seems this annoyance is normal.

This happens in my 2005 as well. I believe it is normal. I almost always have my music on and I never notice it with the music on, but when i hit the power button to pick up the phone or talk to someone next to me, I always hear the disc spinning. I pretty much got used to it now. Well, no trip to the dealer is necessary.
