I'm working on putting a good system in my EXT & I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or if anyone has the ProBox subs by Audio Engineering that mount on the midgate or the ones that mount under the rear seat.

RichieRich 10-02-06, 08:30 PM I'm working on putting a good system in my EXT & I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or if anyone has the ProBox subs by Audio Engineering that mount on the midgate or the ones that mount under the rear seat. TheCaddyKidd 10-02-06, 09:20 PM i know the probox that mounts to the midgate and uses the Earthquake subs.. you cannot fold the midgate down so you lose the midgate function... the box that goes under the seats you have to find your own subs.. you can mount a sub with up to a 5.5 inch depth.. however you also have to be careful with the roundness of the sub.. not all the subs work.. i was already told that if you go with an underseat box there is pretty much of no window shatter bass or bass that you can hear from a block away... pretty much with underseat boxes you will get clean filler bass for inside the vehicle.. even the probox will not give any loud bass for people outside or anything.. if you are looking for something just inside you can try and underseat box with 2 pioneer 10inch shallow mounts.. they give like 250 rms or so.. i talked with a guy over at Atlantic Acdessories in Brooklyn and im gonna cal at the end of the week to see what he can do for a custom box.. he said he might be able to do a custom box with 3 12inch Earthquake subs under the rear seats which would be perfect... and at least with the underseat box you keep the fold down feature of the midgate if that is what you are looking for... RichieRich 10-03-06, 07:09 AM ProBox just came out with a box that has 2 Earthquake SWS subs in it & it goes under the rear seat. It's real nice & from what I have read it sounds better than good... check it out .. ProBox: AV210DF (http://www.proboxloaded.com/products/enclosures/loaded/chevy/AV210DF/index.shtml) TheCaddyKidd 10-03-06, 09:15 AM didnt know they had that one out.. still my point remains that you are limited and are using pretty much the same setup as the box on ebay.. those are the shallow mount subs i was talking about.. they run 200 rms each... it will sound good but its not going to be some window shattering bass.. i would also double check and make sure that is going to fit the EXT.. it should fit but always better to ask... i just wouldnt be planning that the subs are gonna sound like some full out system.. it should be nice on the interior but its not going to be any sound where people outside are gonna be like dam he has a system... personally that is one reason why i am planning on returning back to the underseat box.. i like having the bass hit and i love rolling up to places with it hitting hard and people like damm.. but it also makes it easy for the thieves to know that its worthe breaking in since they know for fact you have a system... im probably going to throw 2 10inch subs in the box that i already have today.. ill let you know what it sounds like.. im going with pioneer though cuz the earthquake subs can only handle 200 rms while pioneer are rated at 250 rms/ 1000 max.. TheCaddyKidd 10-03-06, 09:16 AM that box looks nice though.. if you do get it you should do some custom lighting and use those streetglow glow wire stuff and spell out the words.. I may be selling my box with the 18" Sub(one of the best 18"s out there) included RichieRich 10-04-06, 08:27 AM Hey Richie Rich, If you ever dont wanna use the midgate function and instead want some earthquaking making bass, let me know. I may be selling my box with the 18" Sub(one of the best 18"s out there) included You got it Fast66... I was thinking about your set up, I was gonna ask what you were running back there... I bet an 18" must really be slammin. TheCaddyKidd 10-04-06, 11:12 AM where do you put the amps? it depends.. some boxes can fit the amp in the space in between the subs while others do not leave enough room and the amp must be mounted elsewhere.. from the looks of the probox it looks at thought the middle is slanted giving more space.. theo nly thing i dont like is that the subs are not visible... | |
