My 2000 Eldorado T/C has recently started stalling a lot once or twice a day. The code given indicates I have two bad CPS. I have bought replacements and am going to try to change them out. From this board I have gotten the impression that this is a DIY job. I crawled under the car to check it out and I have a couple of questions before I start.
1. From posts here I understand you can access these by removing the oil filter mounting hardware. Is this correct? I cannot see the sensors as it is.
2. From beneath the car I can only see one mounting screw for this piece (oil filter mount). I presume there is another one higher up but I cant see it. Am I correct and how difficult is it to get to?
3. My understanding is that the Black sensor is the bottom one and the Gray is the upper... correct?
4. I am maybe slightly better than average with cars, not an expert by any means. I have replaced these sensors on my old BMW so Im a little familiar with the process, but are there any problems or pitfalls I should look out for? If you think I should just pay someone to do it feel free to say so.
I appreciate any and all advice.
Thanks, Devast.
