anybody know what the recommened air to put in a 305/40/22 tire is?

Should say on the tire. Usually listed near the load capacity on the side wall.

For factory wheels the recomended tire pressure is on the driver's side door. Can't help you with aftermarket, look on the tire.

I believe the correct air pressure should be 40. That should be perfect for the tires.
