Saw this forlorn puppy on my way to the gym one day and couldn't resist taking a coupla pics. Something about the way the gull poop graced those huge tailfins,,,,,

I like the contrast between yours and the '59! Cool find! It appears as though that one is a daily driver.

Poor baby, who could do that?

It remiminds me of one in Detroit, '59 convertible with the top off, painted pink with a 10' high sign sticking out of it parked next to some old building year after year.

The guy who owns it hasn't had it onthe road since Feb/05. Beleive me. it would take a few wheelbarrowws full of greenbacks to get THIS Bad Boy back to showroom condition! He was starting with the bodywork dents/creases,

How much is a new interior for a '59 these days? At the very least, he is probably looking at over $10.000 in rechroming and that would only come after he found and/or refurbed the badly dented/pitted stuff first. Some pieces, like the polished SS spears that run all along the body might be impossible to find now - he'd have to fab them himself. As a Fleetwood, it had some unique trim, that's for sure,,,,,

Not very much rust though.

I'll grant you that, Ben - damn shame! Not the current guys' doing, but certainly his problem now. At least he doesn't seem to mind the amount of work, if he is going to bring this one back t0 the street. It will look Killer when he does - don't know if you can make it out, but the previous owner had put these mega-tube exhaust pipes on it. Looks beyond silly. And he couldn't even put a decent set on - went with the cheapest he could find so yeah, those are rusting!

lol, I see those now. A set like yours would look great though.

You know, even mine might come off looking a bit small - they're 4 inches at the mouth. I think they can go as much as 5 inches. To clear the massive bumper on that '59 they can't look like an afterthought and they'll have to look like they are proportioned right.

But Hell, he is a looooong way from making the ass-end of that car look right! I wish I could track him down, but didn't get any pers. info. and the car is gone now. Woulda loved to do a photo-shoot on the whole resto!

When and if he does fix it up, it will be the most beautiful thing on the road around there. Thanks.

If he can get within spittin' distance of this one, he'll be doing just fine!!

Note the differences in the body lines between the convertable and the fleetwood - regardless of the hardtop/conv diff, of course. That fleetwood has more chrome spears and other trim bits, especially along the sides. The back bumper on the fleetwood has 3 horizontal lines of chrome thingies, whereas the convert has only 1. Another example, the fleetwood has a chrome "V" attached to the centre of the back-up light - not so on the convert.

Plus, it spells out "FLEETWOOD" in big block letters along the lower part of the front fender, up by the door. I can't imagine trying to hunt one of those letters down. They stand almost a full inch proud of the sheetmetal and are contoured to fit that slight curve in the fender, from top to bottom.

Lucky for him, he has all of them!

Back to Miss Ray. A lady who can cook, and cooks wearing that, to cover up "those", well my firends, is the lady for me.
