with 72,000 miles, and never having owned a caddy, I cant tell you how much I love this car, even with the 307. It has one little quirk that is frustrating. It doesnt want to idle when first started. I have to start it half a dozen times before it acts like it wants to run, but even then it has to warm up for several minutes before I can put it into drive. After it warms up, no problems. Any suggestions at where I should begin to look for whats causing this?

hey it may kinda sound silly but do you pump the gas twice before starting it (if its carborated). I don't mean to be rude saying that. If not I would like so more info about the problem cause I have a 87 brougham 307 carb to I love the engine beside the lack of power.

If you are pumping the gas before you start it you probably need to adjust the choke or carb.

You would need to pump the gas at least once to shut the choke. Otherwise, the throttle will hold the fast idle cam and prevent it from shutting as the motor cools off.
