Cool! I want pics. What kind of info do you want? If you want some basic info about it's history and stuff, go here Cadillac History (http://100megsfree4.com/cadillac/)

The best place I've found to get old Cadillac parts (other than eBay) is dBaer's Cadillac Ville (http://www.cadillacville.com), they have everything.

Keep us updated :)

I've ordered stuff for my '77 from Usa Parts Supply before great catalog but a little pricey.

Benzilla,
Just checked the dBaer's site and the business is for sale! Wonder if sale prices on parts will soon follow.

 I will post pics after i get the long drive home dirt off of her.... well im looking to restore her and maybe even give her a little bit of an updated look also.....had the water pump go on me 3 hours into my 14 hour drive home and it just so happened to be in casey, il ....never heard of it either huh.....well the it has roughly 2990 people in it and no taxi service within 40 miles....and here is just how bad it was....the john deer dealer is also the home computer repair facility along with the verizon store......prob the nicest people i have ever come in contact with.....big change from city life.....but back to the original question....i am a car freak and really enjoy working and building them.....just looking to where to see trends for the car and ideas...thanks in advance:thumbsup:

Woah! Awesome Color Combo! Someone gave it to you?! LUCKY LUCKY. How many miles? Looks like its in really good condition esp the dash and steering wheel (I've had 3 77/78s and they all had cracked dashes and missing woodgrain on the steering wheel). Good luck with the car! As for trends I've kept mine bone stock so not sure.

Beautiful Cadillac!
Gorgeous color combination and fantastic interior condition.
Updating?
What about (maybe) rims from 95 Fleetwood Broughams?
Otherwise Nothing. That Cadillac is simply too gorgeous as is.:)

Why in the world would you want to mod that thing? That would be like putting a sky light in the sistine chapel.

she has 30,9xx miles on her ..... well she will need a paint job prob within the next year....a couple of trim pieces inside will need to be fixed and or replaced but the top is in great condition......the dash has a couple of small cracks but nothing too big......i was just looking to really replace some of the pieces more than i guess "hook it up" maybe even new grills for the front... yes i will want some new shoes for her and am curious as to the 95 brogham wheels that rick 186 spoke about....i want to keep her pretty much stock but "upgraded" i guess....i have the stock 8 track/cb/radio and thinking of looking for i believe McIntosh made shaft dual knob radio to replace it...... just looking for direction to take this old girl and give her a make over that will snap peoples necks :bighead:

dBaer's Cadillac Ville (http://www.cadillacville.com) or ebay.

Maybe USA Parts Supply (http://www.usapartssupply.com), but I haven't checked them out enough.

Same here, I looked for about 2 months then found one that was almost mint. Still a lot cheaper than dBaer's though.

what is the lug pattern an offset......what wheels from other cars will fit on her?

Benzilla
09-24-06, 05:05 PM
Just curious, why do you want to change the wheels? I love how the originals look on these cars.

BIGMerle
09-24-06, 08:30 PM
because they are hubcaps not rims....

Benzilla
09-24-06, 10:58 PM
Your point being? They don't count as just another set of hubcaps, these are heavy metal and lock, ever take one apart? nice pieces of work really.

BIGMerle
09-25-06, 12:26 PM
really? no i havent taken them apart.....just thought i might try to get some of the early 80's rims or something nice and classy with a good shine.....

Benzilla
09-25-06, 12:51 PM
You mean the real wires? Those would look nice, I just assumed you wanted to get 22s or something.

Your current ones don't shine? Get some eagle one chrome & wire wheel cleaner and use it, if they don't shine now, they should after that, and if they still don't, it really is worth it to pop them off, take them apart and clean them, you'll be amazed at the shine those things will have.

EHH.....22'S.....not really my style....i like big wheels dont get me wrong but wheels on that car need to be smaller and classic looking like the era of the car....as much as i thought i would never say it maybe some daytons even with a nice large white wall.......

BIGMerle
09-25-06, 04:22 PM
any thoughts on performance parts maybe?

Benzilla
09-25-06, 05:26 PM
I'm glad somebody DOESN'T want 22s for once, that would kill it.

For performance parts, try here first. P2 (http://500cid.com/)

what are some things you recommend...exhaust etc......honestly....German cars I have tons of knowledge but American cars....this is my first....I want to keep the car clean and classy looking...but to be honest...a little pep under the peddle would be nice.....im not even sure about the engine much more than its a 7 litre v8 and i get 3 gallons to the mile  :alchi:

there's a lot of good info in the big block section of this site, its farther down the main page, there's a sticky thread about modding the 425, you should find anything you need to know there.
