PAC SWI-X Steering Wheel Radio Control Interface (http://www.virtualo.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=5)

I called car toys (audio store) about installing the gmos-06 unit for me and they said they sold a similar item made by PAC.
this is a link to it.

Anyone have any experience with this one?

Also if i use the Gmos-06 would i just be matching colors with the factory harness or does it just attach into the factory harness? and insert the rca s to the HU?

is there any wires that i need to run seperately like power or something?

thanks

the gmos-06 is a direct plug in it also retains your wheel controls pending on which year and make you have (last gen sevilles and devilles it will work where the buttons are on the wheel ones that had them behind the wheel i dont think it works)

what can i do if i only have i pair of outputs on the aftermarket HU?

thanks

get a Y that will give you 2 sets of rcas off one set of plugs
or upgrade to a unit that has front rears and sub

RCA RY6 Y Connector 1 Male To 2 Female Plags (http://www.brilliant-electronics.com/audio_cables_rca_ry6.htm)

you mean like the one in the link?(just one female connected to the gmos-06 and one female connected to the sub's amp?

or can i
buy 2 RCA Splitters that are one male 2 female. So now i can have 4 females total (2 for the amp and 2 for the gmos)

so this won't be a problem, i wont send any highs to the sub since the highs are filtered out right?

i have a bass knob so i can control the bass of the amp and the amps has a crossover built in.

thanks
i dont know much about audio as u can tell

thats perfect thats all you need is two of those that are in the link
connect them into the hu then you will have 3 sets at the hu
or you oculd do it at the back and buy a smaller set of rcas for less money

The GMOS-06 retains use of the steering wheel buttons. But. There is always a but. The volume will work the volume. But, the volume button lowers the volume at the factory amp. So you will still need to work the HU volume, if your sub is hooked into it. Also, the "SEL" button, now becomes a "FADER" button. Since you will be powering 4 speakers through two RCA's, that is how it adjusts it.

Help with installation.

in this attached picture the gmos 06 shows a red and blue wire.
is this the power wire and not sure about the other one.

are both needed to be connected to a battery or ignition or to the HU?

would really appreciate any help with this installation since i dont have alot of cash to get someone to do this

i would assume thats for your aftermarket hu.
the blue wires the antenna
red is you ignition power wire
and you need to run your own yellow wire to my knowledge on all caddys due to the computers it has no true constant power wire.

thanks

so what would the attenna wire connect to? the HU?
also
about the red wire, can anyone help me figure where is the easiest way to connect this wire to in a 2000 deville?

CaddyETC- u said i had to run a constant power from the HU to battery right?

and i'm assuming ill connect the ignition wire from the HU also.

you connect the blue and red wires to the hu itself
the yellow wire you run from the + terminal on your batt to the yellow wire on your hu

I own a 2005 Cadillac STS Non-Navigation w/Bose and I am looking to get an aftermarket Navigation Radio installed.

It seems to be trivial, since non of the harness companies seem to have the harness for it.

I contacted a local car radio place that says they can do it and it will take installing the PAC OS3 BOSE (retains onstar system) and the PAC SWI PS (retains steering wheel controls) ... The only thing they say will not function would be the preferences that can be set through the SETUP function of factory radio... they say that I would need to set all of my preferences before they uninstall the factory radio to install the aftermarket navi.

Has anyone had this done? If so, is it correct that only the SETUP function is the only thing lost during this process???

PLEASE ADVISE. I am about to do this within the next couple of days.
