Tnx Benzilla 09-13-06, 12:24 AM Well as far as construction goes, I think anything off a RWD from '77 - '92 would fit. Cadboy425 09-13-06, 12:42 PM Dashtops.com has the armrest caps that you put on top of the orig. ones. I got a pair for mine but never put them on still tryin to find a noncracked nice orig one. Here is the link: Cadillac dash boards, door panels and other car parts - Dashtops.com (http://www.dashtops.com/dashboard/autodash.cfm/161) creeker 09-13-06, 02:00 PM cadboy425,tnx for your help, you said you didn't put them on yet, because your looking for an original one, didn't you like the caps that you got?. Cadboy425 09-13-06, 03:13 PM The ones I have needed to be dyed to match. They came in black plastic. I didn't know u could buy them dyed from the company. On my driver's armrest the orig owner covered the crack w/ blue vinyl so it really hasn't been my priority to get the cap painted. I keep my eye out for original armrests in the junkyards but haven't found one that wasn't cracked or fits. creeker 09-13-06, 03:36 PM Iv'e been looking for quite awhile too,do you know what the year range is for these arm rests?. I'm trying to find a power antenna too. Cadboy425 09-13-06, 03:50 PM the website says 1977-1984. Not sure about the antenna mine still has the original. Benzilla 09-13-06, 08:55 PM Oh, I thought you ment the seat armrest, sorry. Yeah, '77-'84 were all the same. I also need an antenna, my '79 came with a custom CB antenna, and I took off the mast because it was really high, now I need an original power one. Cadboy425 09-15-06, 04:03 PM Creeker, In an answer to your PM question ( I didn't have enough posts so wouldn't let me reply to the PM), the armrests are more firm/hard than the original vinyl. creeker 09-15-06, 06:54 PM cadboy425,tnx.for your reply, sorry to drag this out but,do you think if yours were the right color that you would install them, what I'm getting at is do they look good or a poor substitute?. tnx again Cadboy425 09-15-06, 11:59 PM You know i've had them over 2 yrs, got them off ebay during the winter time while the 77 was in storage ( a few miles from my parents in Philly, and I live in nyc). I actually haven't tried them in the car yet. I just bought a 91 Caddy Coupe Deville that I pick up monday that desperately needs a driver's armrest (all chewed up) and I am seriously thinking about purchasing one for that car if I don't find one in the junkyard. I have to bring out the 77 next month for PA state inspection and I'll try and see how the armrest fits in that car. What worried me is that according to the instructions u have to use a sillicone glue that glues on TOP of the old armrest which kind of turned me off. They didn't include the glue by the way. Hope that helps :) creeker 09-16-06, 10:39 AM cadboy425,yes it helps, tnx for your time. | |
