My trans has an intermittant issue I am curious about. Once in a while, not always now, when I am driving and nail it to say pass someone, the trans will start shifting very hard (not harsh by GM stds), and the trans will groan. If I shut car off, let sit for 5-10 seconds and restart, problem is gone.

I have changed fluid/filter when this started, yet it comes back now and then. For a while it was ALWAYS doing it. Now just once in a while. If I don't nail it, it will never do it. Once I nail it, and it does it, it gets hard.

If I had to guess, line pressure solenoid jammed up and line pressure skyrocketing. All shifts are proper time, just hard. If I restart, all is normal and groan is gone. Noise sounds towards front of trans.

Ideas?

Thanks!!

SHane has been posting on the NAISSO forum recently (since ISSF went down). You might want to start a post on there and see if he will chime in. Or just PM him.
