I usually pick the home underdogs, unless they REALLY suck. That means Florida will cover.
Tell me where I'm wrong and WHY. You might want to rethink your USC/Nebraska pick. At 19.5 points, I don't think they're going to cover. My personal feeling is that it will be closer to 7 or 10 points (but I may be biased since I went to Nebraska and was there in '97, our last National Championship year).
I think Michigan is going to beat Notre Dame.
Haven't seen Florida this year and Tennessee has been so inconsistent but my gut feeling is that Tennessee is going to win that one.
Other than that, your picks don't seem too bad. Florian 09-12-06, 06:20 PM Id put the winners in red.
F illumina 09-13-06, 12:36 AM You picked against the Eagles. I'm not helping you. Dadillac 09-13-06, 09:24 AM Best thing to do is to just pick at random. Or pick by the beautiful colors of thier helmets. That is how the ladies do it, and they always seem to win.
Don We have an 81-year-old undertaker who enters the pool every week. He picks the left side and wins twice a year that way, which is better than most people do.
It costs $5 to enter, and usually we have 18-20 people playing. Each week the "bookie" holds out $10 for a big payout at the end. Whoever has the best record overall wins it. One year I won the weekly pool three times and took the year-end jackpot too.
Since I don't watch football like I used to I'm lucky to win once. That's breakeven. Blackout 09-13-06, 04:06 PM You picked against the Eagles. I'm not helping you.And he picked against my 'Boys! Now I'm not helping you either!:thehand: They're my boyz too. :(
Sorry. Blackout 09-13-06, 04:48 PM They're my boyz too. :(

I can never bet FOR them. They never cover when I do that. :( illumina 09-13-06, 05:27 PM And he picked against my 'Boys! Now I'm not helping you either!:thehand:
Considering how flat Bledsoe looked Sunday, I would have picked against them too :p

Hehehe...At Dallas and at Indy will be tough, but the other division games don't bother me, because quite frankly, the 'Skins and the Giants won't be anywhere near as good as they were last year. I'm also surprised by the Panthers loss on Sunday, but there's a whole season to determine their fate...We'll see...Remember, this is the NFL, parody makes it possible!
By the way, are you going to Philly for the October 8th game? I would like to make it there, but I don't think I can take enough time off work to get there, and besides, I think it mgiht be sold out already...I dunno... That's a 1-5 finish if I've ever seen one.
It sucks to be an Eagle. :(
Of course, if they win out with a schedule like that, there's no need for playoffs OR a Super Bowl. They can just take their ball and go home. We can mail them their rings. nyyankeehater 09-13-06, 06:38 PM Please don't take the Jets over the Pats.... Pats will win by 13. Gotta love the NFC-East.
Points for the Eagles fan:thumbsup: illumina 09-13-06, 11:52 PM That's a 1-5 finish if I've ever seen one.

The Eagles' secondary is back and very healthy this year; they have a secondary that consistently ranks in the top five when healthy. The only game that would concern me is the Colts game because Peyton Manning can light even the best secondary up, so that game will likely be inked as a loss. At Dallas will be tough too, because the way things go in the NFC East, all of the teams will be right in the thick of things, especially the Cowboys and the T.O. target they have on their collective backs, so inking a win in Texas isn't a shoe-in because Dallas will be strugling for the same spot the Eagles will be playing for at that point in the season.
The other games, though tough by NFL standards, aren't inked as losses as many assume. The last I checked, the Eagles had pretty good luck containing Vick, even in their 14-10 loss to open last season. Going to Philly isn't easy, and the Falcons will have their hands full, especially when Vick has to face that secondary. The Panthers from the looks of things aren't the best team in the NFC either, and if Jake Delhome keeps playing like he did Sunday, he and the Panthers will be watching the Eagles during January and perhaps beyond.
The two divisional road games, as I said earlier, probably wn't be as tough as they look right now. The Giants are likely going to start 0-3 and the Redskins have to show me something a Hell of a lot better than the egg they laid Monday night.
That said, it's a long season for all teams, so let's predict the outcome of December games when December comes along. Otherwise, just enjoy some football! Just for the record, I changed the pick from JETS to patriots.
I caught too much grief from some of you.
