93 Rwd Fleetwood, is dumping trans fluid out of the overflow on top of the trans. have had the radiator, lines, and filter checked for clogs, any other ideas? the shop wants to rebuild, but it shifts normal and is a strong transmission, i dont think it needs a rebuild, just not sure what to do now... after i got it, i found out its rusted out underneath, its fun to drive, but not that fun to put the cost into a rust bucket.
What is the color of the fluid? If pink, bad.... Leaking cooler lines can do this, in which case a rebuild may be warranted, or at least several fluid swaps to get all the antifreeze out.

a damaged pump can cause this. Going into the transmission would be needed if everything else checked ok.
Jas386, if Dustman is looking at this, that would be awesome advice. He is a professional trans builder. If you are in need of a rebuild, he comes with a nice following of Impala owners who are quite happy with is work.
Dustman, what sort of issue is this typically? Is the pump aereating the oil causing it to foam up?
