I so want kudos for finding this, but it makes me feel proud to have bought a GM product

(features the cadillac brand prominently)

YouTube - GM commercial never before seen (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_NYnNoWCu44)

Pure poetry in motion.

You made my day - thanks again.

And 93fleetwoodlowlow, you're right - it makes me DAMN PROUD to drive a Cadillac and be on the top of the GM heap!!

Awesome commercial. Guess what car I happened to see at the end of it.

A Roadmonster!!!

They should definitely air that, although it would cost insane amounts of moolah, but still, its sweet.

They did an ad campaign a few years ago that had a lot of similar video in it. But the theme was more of a flash back to the 50's and 60's.

That link sends an entirely different message. Very good! Too bad they didn't use it.

Oh man, that commercial is BAD-ASS! It was cool as hell to see so much Cadillac in there!

That would be really sweet at the annual meeting up on a 50 foot screen. I'm sure it received rave reviews internally.

I wonder if someone can convert that into an .mpeg, .avi, or some other format we can download.

That explains why they killed it. :yup:

Very cool. Why would that commercial not make it onto television?

Maybe because it's too long.:histeric:

From someone who's worked in advertising for 25 years - that is freakin awesome. Definitely something internal - looks like a video for a dealer or sales convention. You can bet this was played on a big screen with Dolby sound all around. Rah!

Innovative, creative and inspriring. Something most of their cars are not. It's nice to dream and aspire but at some point GM needs to achieve. Cars in the right direction:

Corvette
HHR
CTS-V
Solstice/Sky

Cars in the wrong direction:

Lucerne
Lacrosse
Malibu
Impala
ANY Minivan ever

That's almost a tear jerker. Now if someone has a place to download that it would be great. I love to save stuff like this but YouTube is gay and they do everything they can to make it imposable to download a video.

Thanks for posting.

There's some add-ons out there that let you download Shockwave/Flash content.

Wow.. I feel empowered and I don't even work for GM.

Whoever put that together knew what they were doing.

I'm sorry, but I think that the Lucerne is a winner for GM.

What would make it a loser is if Pontiac and Chevy each had their own identical versions of the same car. That time has long since passed.

I downloaded something called Flash Saving PlugIn. It doesn't work for this. Interesting though. I see what it tries to do which is what I do manually in the norm.

Go to the cache and save the file. The problem is that from YouTube you don't end up with the actual file in the cache. You end up with an obscured URL reference that doesn't do any good.

you still need to convert the .flv format to a usable video format, there is software to do it, but the only one i've seen is $30 to convert the .flv to .avi or .mp3, i was looking at this last night...maybe i'll play with it more since i'm bored at work.

regards to the commercial...

it is a fantastic commercial, promotional video, it almost DOES bring tears to your eyes and as someone else posted, it does make me feel damn proud to be a GM Owner, especially with a Cadillac and someday another Chevy in the family...if the chrysler ever dies, maybe it'll be a GM convertible...or a chopped Eldo. :D

i am still unable to find a free flv to avi, mpeg, etc converter, damn it!

damn too late, when i first saw the juggernaut video i had to have it, so i went the long way, i completely cleared all my history, cache and temp files, then visited the youtube page that hosted the video, your comp downloads the video when you go to the site, it just deletes it eventually, well i kept an eye on the "temporary internet files" folder, then grabbed the biggest file created in it, which was the video of course, but it had no extension, so i opened it in winhex and read the header which said flv, i had never heard of flv so i thought i had the wrong file, i googled flv and it said flash video format, aaaahhhh, so then i downloaded riva flv converter, free i think

now there are links that make it so easy

OffThaHorseCEO
09-13-06, 04:18 PM
btw riva flv converter is advertised as converting traditional formats into flv, but it also reverses the process

also to clarify, when you open a file in winhex youre viewing code, lots and lots of it, just sayin so people will know what i mean

The reason why you'll never see this as a commercial is because it's not a commercial. Read the words and you'll see it's targeted towards those who work at GM.

This is one of those typical Corporate internal communications videos. It's very good, nonetheless.
