View Full Version : Ever Have Your Insurance Screw Up Majorly? DopeStar 156 09-12-06, 12:25 AM How many times has it been in your favor?! Bwahahahha! :lildevil:
You guys know I'm putting my Caddy in storage to save money on the insurance. My current monthly installment is $288 a month. I recieved a bill for this ammount due on the 1st which I never paid. I was told not to worry about it since I'll get a new bill for $96.00 instead. If I decided to pay it I'd get the difference refunded. Today I got a new bill from them for......$288 due on the 23rd. I called them back and asked them in the nicest way possible ":wtf:." The said my policy changes took affect the day before that bill was sent. I was told to disregard the bill since I'd be recieving in the mail a check for $195...........not a bill, a check.... So now the guys think they overcharged me for a bill I never paid. I naturally thanked them and kept my mouth shut.
After all the screw ups they did over there in the process of trying to store my car, this was the best one to finish off with. :D haha SWEET! my insurance company screwed me over... wish something like that would happen to me. anyway... what are you buying me with that money? :D DopeStar 156 09-12-06, 12:44 AM anyway... what are you buying me with that money? :D
My ass outta debt. I still have credit card debt to pay off, and this will help nicely. I already gave those drooling money lustous maggots $600 earlier this month. My spritual advisor said my money situation is on the elevating end. :bouncy: Stoneage_Caddy 09-12-06, 12:51 AM i gotta get me one of them there spirits advosirs ....damn liquor store has too many choices for an old drunk like me ...
but really , whats your take on it ? i been thinkin about going to one of them for fun ...id give them a damn coronary when they tried to read mine ...."mike , umm i dont know how to say this but your ****ed" DopeStar 156 09-12-06, 01:33 AM Mine is a friend of Ms. DS that has now become one of mine. She's a tarot card reader that works at the same psychic bookstore and gave me a 90 minute reading today. They cover their asses and say it's "for entertainment purposes only," but mine is really good. It's to be taken your own way really, some are pretty bad, others will blow your mind. She always gives me good advice because we're not on a customer/business relation, we're on a friendly level..... DopeStar 156 09-12-06, 05:50 AM Even though I had to deal with some stupidity over there, (but what company do you not have to?) Geico is still pretty amazing. I love the fact that I was able to call them up at 1 AM to ask them about this bill and fax them paper work on a Sunday and have someone file it that very day. State Farm just dicked me around constantly, Geico never did anything to me to really piss me off, and they're even giving me a $195 gift! They have my reccomendation..... I'd say save the money in the bank for WHEN they find out they screwed up, because it WILL happen. Save it to pay it back...if yo odn't have to, in time, then spend it... ... ... yup, or hold on to it, wait till the next bill comes around and just return the check, assuming its not one of those "void after 30 days" ones WHEN, not IF they find their screw-up, they won't be overly pleased with the fact you knew about their oversight and didn't come clean with it. Even if you don't cash it out, it is the fact that you didn't tell them about the discrepancy - it gives the perception of implied deceit on your part.
Better to call them up and let them know you caught their mistake - you can even have "sport' with the call, letting them know what boneheads they have in their accounting section. Maybe even suggest they look into their accounting branch more closely.
Hell, if they cut you a check you didn't deserve, how many others are floating around out there, possibly falling into the hands of people who aren't as HONEST and DEPENDABLE as yourself. And how much is this costing everyone else in jacked-up premiums to cover their mistakes?
They will ALWAYS get their money, bud. One way or the other, the books will always ultimately balance out and in their favour, not the other way around.
End result? You come off looking like a hero - and having a notation in your file regarding your initiative about bringing this to their attention can only benefit you down the road. You never know when you might have to call in a marker or two in your ensuing decades of being insured.
Believe me, they WILL find out their mistake. And if you come off looking dishonest about it, you'll regret it. Stoneage_Caddy 09-12-06, 09:25 PM My insureance comapny cancleed me today. Good ol Allstate. I sleep in every day becuse i work from 10am to 10pm. At 7am the phone rings wakes me up , the words " to be cancelled" and "delqinent" were mentioned. I slammed down the phone , printed off my credit card staements and hauled ass to his office.
Trust me , an insureance company fouling up is a fast way to get an ass kicked. Thats what i was there to do. The recpetionist was first to greet me , i told her to "get him NOW, you dont want to hear what i have to say honey". She tried to get him but he wouldnt come out of the office so i went in anyway. I tossed the staements on his desk , and told him to reinate my insureance and assure me that this would never happen again as i pay good money to not have to baby sit his billing dept. He then told me it had been cancelled , not gonna be cancelled but flat cancelled last friday. I blew a gasket asking him why they let me drive around with no insureance for almost 5 days (with a few choice colorful adjectives). I also reemed him about by monthy bill incresing to twice what it normally was and why i had to pay 168 per month to insure a 2500 dollar car thats safer than anything else its age out there. That was also taken care of. But the celaing tiles i sucked off his cealing by flinging open the front door so hard stilll need help.
But im shopping for a new insureance company, this was absolute bullshit to have my insureance cancelled like that , and have to yell and screm and deal with this to get it reinsated for no fault of mine. | |
