View Full Version : The offical Corolla Haters thread ... Stoneage_Caddy 09-11-06, 09:13 PM Thats right , you know i hate these things and the people that drive them. Unorganized grabasstic peices of crap going as slow as they can with boath hands on the wheel as if it was going to fall off. Makeing left turns from the right lane , going so damn slow that i think the speedomter OVER estmates there speed by at least 30 mph. Leave the bastards alone in a bed and bath parkinglot and i swear to god they multiply like rabbits on viagra.
I HATE these little peices of crap
there always stuck in my grille..... I~LUV~Caddys8792 09-11-06, 09:20 PM Corollas are about the most bland cars ever built. No personality what so ever. It's pretty much the best example ever of "road appliance". The only Toyota I ever liked was the Supra.
Don't get me started on the Prius... Of course I'll be alone on this. I drove the GM version (Geo Prizm) of this for 4 years and 130,000 uneventful miles. Original brakes, only one set of replacement tires and preventitive maintenance. This car never cost me a dime. I would've loved to hand this down to one of my sons but sadly sold it to a relative. Let me rephrase that as "sell" cannotes that I was somehow paid by this relative. I gave this car to my brother-in-law who never paid me the agreed upon $2,000. Ain't in-laws great. Also for the record, not the brother in Iraq. I have 4 brother-in-laws and one sister-in-law. I~LUV~Caddys8792 09-11-06, 10:21 PM Of course I'll be alone on this. That's the typical Toyota. Just something extremely reliable and cheap..a great commuter car, but not something you get excited to drive, nor something you desire to own. Destroyer 09-11-06, 10:52 PM You guys dont get it. The Corolla is the PERFECT car for someone that has no style but wants reliability/good gas mileage, period. I would'nt own/drive one only because I dont have to but it serves a purpose. That's pretty much the exact definition of your typical Corolla/Prism buyer! :thumbsup: Thats right , you know i hate these things and the people that drive them. when i was int he airforce we had EOD come out and blow up a caterpillar bulldozer for us with c4 ....it is quite satifying seeing something that irrated you to no end be blown up .. Durable and dull. Very Toyota. Very forgettable. dp102288 09-12-06, 09:48 AM My friend has a Corolla. I hate my friend. pimpin88 09-12-06, 12:01 PM my girlfriend has a corolla. oh wait, shes not my girlfriend anymore. lol I think being a terrible driver is a requirement to own a Toyota. :rant2: It seems like all of the cars that cause problems on the road are Toyotas. They drive slow in the left lane, are talking on cell phones, merge without paying attention to any cars that are beside them, etc.
To top it all off, most of my friends drive Toyotas. :nono: chuckdobbins 09-12-06, 05:32 PM my girlfriend drives an 05 corolla....:tisk:
dont like driving it. too stiff, too small inside, and it takes too much effort to turn the wheel. 30+mpg with a lead foot though, which the girlfriend definitely has. gdwriter 09-12-06, 06:09 PM I had one for a rental when Cruella's radiator was getting replaced. Awful. No matter how I played with the seat adjustments, I could not find a position that wasn't awkward and uncomfortable (I'm 6' 0", 215 lbs.). The engine droned like a swarm of bees. Couldn't wait to get back in my 15-year-old Caddy.

I HATE COROLLAS !!!!! TomDeville 09-12-06, 11:20 PM You know I'm on this team.
The sight of those turdmobiles
simply make me scream;
with 15 on each block; it seems.
They serve a purpose for the
bland; I'd like to give those losers
my back hand.
We should put them all in one place;
and, hit them with a Comet.
toyota corollas; my Dear Caddy Friends,
make me want to vomit.
Best Regards,

I think I helped in that decsion tho....

Coupe or Sedan?
Coupe = cool
Sedan = grandma wants her car back! That sounds like my mom. As great as she is, I do not feel safe when she's driving! Doesn't stop at stop signs, not the most attentive person behind the wheel, drives fast, accelerates hard.. I swear some drivers of these tiny turds intentionally stay in the passing lane when they see a larger car come up behind them.
They couldn't get out of their own way in a school zone.
Put them all in the left lane on the Autobahn between Nuermburg and Munich and make them stay there until they all agree to trade their heap in for a Cadi or get plowed by an S8 or something!!
I feel better now... boricuacaddy 09-13-06, 09:02 AM My cousin just bought a 2006 Corolla! He drives to work 100 miles one way. He has a 2000 Jeep cherokee Sport, Which by the way is the most reliable jeep I have seen. He has almost 200,000 miles on it and it never gave him any major problems. Anyway, the gas prices was killing him so he decided on the Corolla for gas mileage. I been in that corolla a couple of times and it doesn't have any get up and go. It is so plain inside, not much too it. I personally would not buy one even if the gas prices go up 5.00 a gallon.
David I agree Corollas are dull, bland things, but they are what they were meant to be: cheap, reliable, basic transportation for the masses that neither want nor care about anything more. It does what it does with out its owner having to give it any thought (unless it craps out). Kinda like a refrigerator on wheels.
Craig DopeStar 156 09-13-06, 01:31 PM Hahaha! I was at my cousin's house once and her friend came over in his brand new Carolla. He was showing off as I sat there smoking a cigarette on the bumper of my Fleetwood. My dad came over to me and said,
"Why don't you go over and check out his car? He looked at yours."
I just looked back at him and said,
"Dad..... it's different rules here. My car is something to marvel at, his is just disgusting.... You're a Mustang driver, you should understand...."
He looked back at his '05 GT in my uncle's driveway glistening in the same sun that was bouncing off all my chrome and got the idea. He and I then proceeded to crack jokes about how it would stack up to our 8 cylinders. A Corolla is nothing to be proud of. If you go out and end up buying one of these, something went wrong.... dp102288 09-13-06, 01:39 PM 100 Miles to work?! After paying gas and tolls, he looses a lot from his paycheck. Grandma wants her car back :). It's a Custom, I think... its the highest model next to the Gran Sport. CadiJeff 09-14-06, 01:13 AM sign me up. boricuacaddy 09-14-06, 09:36 AM 100 Miles to work?! After paying gas and tolls, he looses a lot from his paycheck.
Yes it is a long way to travel, his company had moved and he decided instead of getting a new job just staying put. He works in a steel company so his pay is very good plus they get production bonuses every month! which pays for his added travel. Now that he bought that fugly Corolla :holycrap: it will save him a lot more money in the long run. I myself only travel 30 miles total back and forth from work and hate it! He is more patient than me for sure.
David dp102288 09-14-06, 09:47 AM Well if they are paying him well and he is happy, more speeding he can do! RobertCTS 09-14-06, 09:58 AM Corolla has to be an American name as the Japanese have trouble pronouncing double LLs. Cadillac comes out as Cataract. AirJigga25 09-14-06, 03:05 PM i like the 4runner sr5's. I drove it as a rental car. Great ride. pimpin88 02-12-07, 12:59 PM Time to resurrect.
So yesterday I almost got to take out three Corollas in one shot with my Roadmaster. In each one was a middle aged man and they all pulled out in front of me. I guess they thought they could get out of the way of a 2+ ton beast coming at them at 75mph because they were special and had the Corolla S. ooooooohh so special.
let the hating resume Cadillacboy 02-12-07, 01:03 PM sign me up Eh, I agree with you on the Corollas, but I freaking love my '86 4Runner I picked up a while back. Runs great, gets 20mpg in 4wheel drive, has almost four hundred thousand miles, I fit in it (7' 260lbs) and it wheels like no other for being damned near completely stock.
A Corolla though? No, I'll pass. I~LUV~Caddys8792 02-12-07, 02:41 PM To sum it up, I'm not a fan of Toyota cars (save the 2nd and 3rd gen Supra), but their new trucks and SUV's I like. illumina 02-12-07, 04:52 PM Toyota: taking the fun out of the automotive experience since 1933 :D I'm not a fan of a Corolla's either, but I'll say this....my dad drives one into Brooklyn everyday for work, and he drives it like it was a Porsche 911 Turbo (of course it's not, but he beats on it pretty good). Car never sees under 80 on most highway trips. Just thought I'd throw that in there as he is probably the smallest minority of Corolla owners that actually drive the thing hard and fast.
On a side note...my mother leased a '95 Twin-turbo 6spd Supra for three years. She decided not to keep it after her lease was up in '98 because it was completely incapable of handling even the slightest amount of snow...not that it was supposed to, but she used it as a daily driver. She went with a '98 M3 Convertible which got totaled by me a few years ago (in my defense...it was about 20 degrees, and I hit an ice patch on the inside edge of a blind corner. I almost save it but it over steered and went sideways into a tree. In hindsight...if I hadn't crashed it, I'd be driving that instead of the STS....not a total loss after all...) dkozloski 02-12-07, 06:06 PM I had a rear wheel drive Celica with a 22RE motor and that thing would really go. The only annoyance was a vibration in the clutch pedal when you wound it up. I traded it off for a Mazda RX-7 Turbo. It was a rocket sled in second gear. LS1Mike 02-12-07, 09:07 PM *Yawn* Toyota. One hit me a couple months ago, if its any consolation, there was virtually no damage to my car, and what looked like about a 2500 dollar bill on his. My sister's boyfriend has a Land Cruiser 100, I absolutely love that car. I don't feel the same about Corolla though lol RightTurn 02-13-07, 08:09 AM Can Camry haters post here? :gag: LS1Mike 02-13-07, 09:16 AM Gas Mileage, screw that.
