My money is on Eli's team.
I think tomorrow night's game will come down to the running game. If the Colts have effectively replaced Edgerrin James, they can win. If not, they won't have a chance.
What do you think? gdwriter 09-10-06, 12:19 AM I'd rather have Tom Brady than either of the Manning boys. :stirpot:

Tom is the man, no doubt. Payton has shown over and over again that he melts in the big games. Eli, well time will tell. Watch the Pats this year.... they're back!! gdwriter 09-10-06, 12:30 AM Tom is the man, no doubt. Payton has shown over and over again that he melts in the big games. Eli, well time will tell. One of the reasons I love Tom Brady is he's cool under pressure. I'll admit, I was getting pretty panicky during those final minutes in all three Super Bowl wins, but he's proven himself when it counts.
I've been a loyal Pats fan since 1975, but I'm still really pissed off about Vinetari leaving. Another brilliant clutch player.
Sorry to hijack your tread Elvis. Back to Payton vs. Eli.

My money won't be placed on either brother this season as Eli is too streaky and Peyton and the Colts might run into a much tougher season. But as for tomorrows game, I'll take Eli in the 4th because he doesn't seem to let the bigger games (except Carolina...) affect him like Peyton has been. Peyton. At Least for tomorrow night. LittleB 09-10-06, 01:21 AM Peyton Mannings team, the Colts-they're just a better team and more experienced. Blackout 09-10-06, 10:22 AM The Colts are going to beat up on the Giants. Peyton is just a better QB then Eli and one if not the best QB in the NFL. 2004ctsv 09-10-06, 01:27 PM Sorry to mix the sports, but the line from Blitzburgh for these guys is
"Bring it on, Meat" Peyton hasn't been the problem for the Colts in the past two years. They've had other issues. He was flawless. His only weakness now is that he thinks too much and his teammates can't always keep up with all those audibles.
Eli will never get the happy feet problem Peyton had, because he just doesn't give a shit. He's so laid back I don't think pressure like that phases him.
I'm not biased anymore, either. After last season I decided not to stick with one team and live and die with them. Whatever happens happens. illumina 09-10-06, 05:09 PM Sorry to mix the sports, but the line from Blitzburgh for these guys is

Two words:
"Who Dey?" Peyton's team won the first half, but Eli's QB rating is higher.
Tiki is the MAN. DILLIGAF 09-10-06, 11:13 PM This game is living up to all the hype.Oh,and Trent Greens a wuss.
Oh well,we'll let shitty officiating decide this one. illumina 09-10-06, 11:43 PM Shitty calls = Manning loss...
That offensive pass interference call was in the top 1% of worst calls I've ever seen. Ever... DILLIGAF 09-10-06, 11:46 PM Shitty calls = Manning loss...

I'm pissed,A great game gone to shit! illumina 09-10-06, 11:50 PM I'm pissed,A great game gone to shit!
I'm pissed too, because normally when I pick a winner of a game, I'm pretty accurate. I had the spread covered until that last FG. Overall a good game.
IMO, if the tables had been turned for the last 1:00, I think Peyton could've won it. Eli threw two good short passes but the receivers didn't even try to get out of bounds.
The Colts have that drill down. They execute it better than any team I've seen, and that includes Marino's Dolphins and Staubach's Cowboys. | |
