Can I use 6X9s in the front, i think the only size that works is 4 by 6 inches, or 6 inches. But the ones ive seen dont have much power, thats why I want to use some Sony 300 watt 4 way 6 X 9s in the front to match the ones in the rear, this is on a Pioneer head unit. I also have a 10" single sub, and will be buying an amp dont know what rating.

its your money ask any audio guy and they well say the like

will it drop in fit NO, the magnet itself is probably bigger than the hole. With some modification and a custom made speaker plate yes it would be possible

if i were you and you have a 4x6 inch hole and needed big power get a speaker thats right for the job and will handel the power. infinity kappa plate speakers will work 100%

Wow. Ok first of, 6x9s produce almost no sound. Buy components, I don't know how much I can stress this. I can sit in the back of my car, turn off my sub and put my fade all the way to the rear and all the way to the front, and the front is probally about 5x louder. And both are top-of-line of their manufactuer. Components give much cleaner and louder sound. 6x9s are used as a replacement for a subwoofer, they are in the back becuase they produce more bass than sound. Since you already have a sub, I can not stress how vital buying components over co-axials would be.

Also on the power issue........Watts don't mean anything. They say 300....I know it ain't RMS. You run just about any speaker at 300rms and they will blow VERY quick. And ETC is right Sony speakers are trash. I recentley installed some subs in a guys car and he had all sony equipment. He had Sony 6x9s and they distorted at very low volumes.

If you want to be happy, at least buy a 6.5 and get a plate to make it fit. If you have some money to spend buy a component set and an amp.

Thanks for the info thats all I needed to hear, im a newb at this, Im looking at Polk 4" x 6" Speakers (DB460)

PLK DB460
• 4" x 6" speakers
• 2-way design

• 120 watts of peak power
• 75Hz-22kHz

$67.99

These are from Circuit City, I know you may not be Sony fans, but I will be getting the Sony 6X9 4 ways for the rear, the reviews I read have been great for them. I guess you swear at them or swear by them. What is wrong with the Sony's, they are about $70.00 bucks for a pair, I thought it was a deal and the reviews were great, please advise thanks. I could change my mind and buy other speakers besides Sony.

sony is usually a great company
in their mass producing of products for compaies like wallmart and such theyve gone way down hill. Anyone who is interested in audio hates sony. They are horrid speaks but if its what you like and its what makes your ears happy then by all means ignore us and go for it. Your the one who has to listen to them so buy what you like.
As for polk i reccomend them they are greats speakers!

Well listen to them first hand. For a rear fill it doesn't really matter if you have subs. These will blow away the Sonys: Diamond Audio D392i Car Speakers (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17170) About $20 more, which is what like $10 more after tax?

What is the RMS on those speakers. One thing is that Peak power means NOTHING, that basically means the amount of power it can handle before it blows. RMS is the power that it should be ran at for daily to keep it healthy. Also I wouldn't count on people reviews of Circuit City, no offense to them, but if they are buying from CC they don't know much.

No because 98% of engine enthusiasts else says they are excellent motors. Now go to Car Audio forum and ask about Sony speakers. But like ETC said, I won't care, I'm just trying to lead you into the best sound for your price.
