First its not a Bose system
Is it possible for me to use an aftermarket stereo with the factory speakers?
and will the tweeters still work?
anyone out there know the sizes and ohms of the speakers (front , tweeter & rear not sub)in a base 2000 deville ?
i heard if the speakers' ohms were too low that it might mess up the HU.
thanks

if you replace the hu and use the gmos-06 adapter you will have no problems with replacement.
however you MUST run your own constant power wire.

It may be different for earlier cars, but for my '02 SLS, I did not have to run a new wire. Just splice in the GMOS-06, make the connections, and it is ready to go. Again, I am not sure if the '00 Deville is the same.
My '02 SLS non-Bose, I installed 6.5" Infiniti Kappa's in the doors. Since I used the stock wiring, the component tweeters are still hooked up, and still work. My stock speakers were 2 ohms. That is why I went with the Infiniti's, as almost all aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm. It was explained to me that if I had gone with 4 ohm speakers, that I would have half the output as the 2 ohm'ers. That is not good.

and i thought the tweeters should be working but i didnt notice till i got home.
does anyone know the sizes of the tweeters so i can get them replaced?
are all the speakers on the doors 6 1/4 inches?
