Just returned from a trip where I was driving my wife's 2005 DHS. I was very disappointed in the headlight low beams.

Has anybody here installed aftermarket low beams on their same vintage cadillac?

If so please tell me what you got and how pleased you are with the results. Also any installation tips if available.

Thanks you.

I am not sure how much (if any) difference there is between the '03 & '05 but I have no complaints. What did you dislike about yours?

I installed Sylvania Silverstars in my 2000 STS, and noticed a big improvement in light. I'm sure your DHS uses the same bulbs as my STS.

OSRAM SYLVANIA - SilverStar (http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/HighPerformance/Silverstar/)

The light output seems to be very low. Not only is it low, it is "splotchy." that is there are areas of light and areas of dark. I did not feel that I had adequate light to be safe driving in traffic.

i actually installed some aftermarket bulbs purchased from cartoys. the bulbs i purchased cost about 35.00, dont remember the name brand but the bulb looked a dark blue but when installed projected a very nice clear blue and very very good night vision, i have my front window tinted very lightly but these bulbs really made a diference from stock bulbs, plus are cheaper than the slyvania silverstar, and give alot better audi blue (hid) headlight blue, and project just as good if not better.

Just to be sure: Are the headlights aligned properly?
I bought a 2003 DHS in July, and the lights were completely misaligned, and the dealer corrected it. There is also a step by step procedure in the owners manual that shows how to realign the headlights.

In my 01 the headlights are very bright. I would guess they're out of alignment.

Thanks for the thoughts on alignment. I will try that.

However, the poor quality of the output makes me think that the problem is the bulbs themselves. It could also be that I just have a bad set of OEM bulbs.
