There's this kid that lives around the corner from me and he had a modded G35 coupe that I blew the doors off a while back. He rolled up to my house the other day in a new C6 ZO6 looking for redemption. I was on the way out so I told later on maybe. What do you guys think about my chances? I've got a maggie w/ 2.8, Stealth Wild tune, B&B w/ res. , UUC and a anti wheel hop kit? Let's go fellas rally around me and get me pumped up so I can atleast think I have a chance against the beast.

That's a 11.5 second car @ 125......STOCK!!!!

I wouldn't try racing him, unless just for fun to see how well he does..

I'm running your exact set up (almost - Corsa instead of B&B) and with my dyno tune (I also have Stealth's latest tune which hasn't made it back into the car yet), I was at 447 RWHP and 421 RWTQ. He is at least the same RWHP isn't he (with a much lighter car)?

He'll be getting even, but it will be fun.

Take video please.

Sorry, but you're gonna lose..... but you could have four of your friends witness it. He can only bring one. Watch a movie after you race.

That Z06 is a bad MuthaF&%r, one of the best in the world! Too bad Consumers Reports won't recommend it but thats besides the point.
Yea, get the video. No shame losing that race.

Yeah, I figured I'd lose hands down. I also live around the corner from VELOSE (Frank). Maybe I can borrow his cockpit camera mount set up or better yet I get Frank (6'1" @ 225lbs+) to be the passenger in the C6 and video the race while also adding a little weight advantage torwards me? It's all for fun anyway. I'm just trying to figure out how the HELL this kid can afford so much car :hmm:?

Don't come back to the forum if he doesn't leave you drive it. I would love to know your impressions. j/k
Please talk him into letting you drive it.

No Sean....you've got it all wrong. We're going to tag team this Z06 together. I'll record it from my car. Two maggied V's vs a stock Z06 sounds like more fun. It'll be a good way to compare maggied superchips tune and Stealth V tune.

By the way, was this guys' G35 coupe silver? If so, I gave him a beating not too long ago down 11th street towards the freeway entrance. We came out of our neighborhood thru Crossroads. No wonder he moved up to a Z06. :D

What if you add a 100shot of nitrous?
I can always bring my friends 600rwhp terminator or my friends 800rwhp Supra.

With drag radials it did 11.70 @ 123.6 mph. Street tires did 11.86 @ 121 and change. Average driver...it's going to go 12.1-12.2! Yes, it will be difficult to keep up but race him while it is brand new, like today! as he is not supposed to bring it over 5500 rpm...they say...so motor is a little tight! Now I say to punch it right from the go but my buddy was told this when he got his and believe it or not, he did it for 500 miles! The computer definitely holds back H.P. in the beginning during the break in period so run him ASAP and he will be surprised at how close you may be to him! Good luck!

Even with a 2.6" pulley and a dyno tune you'd probably still lose. Some of the dyno runs of a C6 Z06's that I've seen have them hanging around 440-450 rwhp (some a little lower at times, some a little higher).

The fact that they have such a significant weight advantage is going to play a huge role in acceleration. Even though my rwhp is higher than a stock Z06, I'd still be very leary based on the weight advantage.

And, don't forget, LS7s aren't exactly hard to mod either...

You guys forget there will be two of us. One side swips him while the other wins. ;)

We know dyno's differ but I have heard of 3 being dynoed at different places and the results were 460 rwhp, 457 rwhp and 454 rwhp so I will lean more towards 450-460 h.p. and the vette doctors on Long Island said that they are seriously underated and are 535 h.p. at the flywheel...easily!

They easily can be!

As stated in an earlier thread, I've seen one with only headers and a tune go over 500rwhp! (He dynoed something ludicrous stock...like 470ish or something--it was really high for a stock C6 Z06)

I think they are all over the place, but who knows. Further, it isn't like I've seen a ton (I can only recall 4 off the top of my head, but I threw out the 470ish rwhp stock one, as that one seemed way outside of the norm. For you stat gurus, say it was like 2 standard deviations from the mean...:) )

Bottom Line--a C6 Z06 is NOT to be taken lightly, even with a maggie. Maybe NOS/cam and a maggie, but then we have other issues that are not desirable...)

I don't know how seasond of a driver this kid is but I did ask him how many miles he had on the beast, he said he just came back from a Vegas road trip that put him at around 2500 miles total on her. Before dude got the ZO6 he asked me if I had been to the track in my car and that he and he buddies go from time to time. So I guess maybe he has handles:burn:??? What ever the case I'll make it point to try and run with guy over the next couple of days. Keep you all updated on the out come.
