I was wondering how to remove the stock stereo in my 1996 deville?

This is one of the easiest radio removals you will ever do. First open the glove box and then pry off the trim surround, it only snaps over the radio, do it carefully as you could break a brittle piece off. When you have exposed the radio, reach in and squeeze the two clips on each side, then pull out the radio, disconnect the antenna, and you now have a gaping big hole. If you are going to put a aftermarket radio in there, you will need a special fascia radio holder and you may have to cut away at the support in back of the stock radio, most people say it does not have enough room. You are lucky in one respect, the car you have is a 96 so you should not experience any problems that the 97 to 99 cars have.
