No way how is that possible thats like BMW getting rid of the M series.:want: 05CTS 09-01-06, 09:22 PM I feel your pain too. My lease is up in 09 and I was planning on an 08 V myself. Don't know if I want the current one with all the diff problems. yobi1kanobi 09-01-06, 09:34 PM what kind of problem are they having. I mean I was actually excited to see if they did like a manumatic with like paddle shifters or something....you know like all they players in the sport sedan market are doin....You know I really hate to criticize American car manufactures but they really are kinda behind at times..Like whatver Im just pissed but I really do hope they reconsider becuz the BMW 335 is gonna be a 300hp sedan. Caddy better step it up or they will be left behind. ChicagoCTS32 09-01-06, 11:02 PM There was no V in 03, first year of the CTS. The new V will be out in 2009. Patience. Not sure about the paddles. They might do something like the automatic vette has. I doubt it will be another LS engine though. I don't think cadillac likes having an engine that can be wrenched on so easy in their garage. It's going to be neat watching what comes out though. Adam 09-01-06, 11:18 PM yeah i am hearing they are possibly getting a blown N* like the STS and the XLR-V's... which is cool but i think it has become a thing with the CTS-V to have an LS engine. it just wouldnt be right if it didnt have one. ChicagoCTS32 09-01-06, 11:52 PM I don't know if you can call it a "thing" if there are only 4 model years of a car out with a particular engine. Maybe if it were 15, it could be considered a thing. Cadillac is still tweaking the new cars, so I don't think they've got anything quite established yet in heritage. AznPrydeRegalRyde 09-02-06, 10:29 AM Yea, actually Cadillacs 'thing' has been to NOT have any parts shared with Vettes, or anything else that was sporty. If anything, Caddy broke the mold when they released the CTS and then erased memories of the mold when they released the V. WRONG! 94-96 Fleetwood's had the LT1. ok they had 40 less hp than the Vette's did but they still had Corvette engines. i still say it is wrong if the CTS-V's dont come with an LS engine. I'm not sure which industry youve been following, but American manufacturers haven't been in 'the game' for 20 years.:P Until the Lincoln LS and the CTS came out, American car manufacturers had NO sedan that competed with the M's and AMG's etc. Cadillac is actually catching up now. And with a little refinement and more power, the new CTS should actually be a class leader. Not bad for the 2nd generation of a vehicle. And don't forget that in 2004, for about 6 months before the E60 M5 came out, you couldn't get an BMW M5 of either generation. No manufacturer puts out their high performance version the same time they released the lower model. AznPrydeRegalRyde 09-02-06, 10:53 AM WRONG! 94-96 Fleetwood's had the LT1. ok they had 40 less hp than the Vette's did but they still had Corvette engines. i still say it is wrong if the CTS-V's dont come with an LS engine. Yea, I forgot about those Fleetwoods. RWD too eh? To be honest tho, it wasn't really the Vette engine. The Fleetwood had iron heads, a much less aggressive cam and intake/exhuast manifolds, etc. It also didn't have any really sporty suspension setup, and it had no intentions of being a performance sedan. Thing is, the Vette and Cadillac have very different images. One is for luxury, refined and purposeful, while the vette is kinda bargain superformance. For every example of Cadillac using Vette parts, I can find someone who didn't get a V because it used a Vette's drivetrain. Now, while you can argue thats a pretty stupid reason not to get a vehicle, its still present. Adam 09-02-06, 11:04 AM Yea, I forgot about those Fleetwoods. RWD too eh? Adam 09-02-06, 11:09 AM WAIT! according to this article it will have a few V6's and a V8! Which V8 it is, is still unknown I guess. If the N* fits, I have a feeling they'll use that. On the other hand, alot of Caddys new respect has come from its racing, which the N* may hurt its winning ways. | |
