Wanted to share some pics, just picked it up from the body shop today. The pics aren't the best, I had to slow the shutter speed down cause it was getting dark. I'll post more later this weekend.

Those hoods look awesome. Very nice. The red looks great as well. It's too bad GM hasn't added that in 2006 or 2007 so the CTS-Vs are more like the other Vs.

StealthV is finally revealing his true colors.

"Clandestine Hammer" is starting to make some sense now.

Oh, by the way, car looks awesome. I beleive that I like it better on the red than black.

Total cost out the door?
Hood $750
Delivery $150
Paint & Prep of hood $550.
(Although, my wife paid - birthday present)

The body shop did an awesome job, there were a few things I asked them to clean up on the hood prior to painting; and the match is awesome. I was really concerned they would have trouble with the metallic finish but it came out great. They painted and cleared the underside too. At the right angle you can see the reflection of the engine.

is the hood open at the windshield base?

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

I took some more shots including the back (no, the cowl isn't open in the back) and the underside. I've got a pretty cool video but have no host server.

Anyway I love the way it looks. Quality is very good, with only minor 'adjustments' needed.

TIP: If you get the hood, dont try to pull the wipers all the way up off the windshield (to clean the windshield) with the hood closed, it doesn't clear the cowl.

That really looks nice... that's the way they should have come from the factory..

The hood looks great dude ! ! How about pick a day and take some nice pics of the car with the new hood and post them in the Unofficial Picture Thread.

Now a side question, are you going to put another Underhood Insulator on that hood ?

I haven't given it much thought, think the paint will survive the heat?

Hmm, I'm no expert. But our engines do generate some heat. Maybe someone with greater knowledge will post here. :)

It looks like it would be an easy step to cut an opening and make it a cowel induction hood.

Looks awsome

I have a pretty good idea.

I really like the little induction slot in the new Z06 hood...and this is why my hood isn't at a shop yet :cookoo:

The bottom of the hood is as nice as the top. Because its glass, no insulator needed. Why would anyone want to cover that first class finish anyway? I was actually thinking
small mural....

Nice Hood!!! Any issues closing or opening ?

Thanks! No issue with closing, although it is heavier so I guide it down when I'm shutting it more than I did with the stock hood.

They have a website, although you won't find the hood anywhere on there. I used the phone number from the website to order.
