More Variety - AutoWeek (http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060828/FREE/60828004/1041)

All in the name of Global car platform viability. Opels, Holdens, Cadillacs, Pontiacs, Saturns and more need to be built on similar/same chasis to keep costs down. Does this dilute the brand? Does this make a car less Cadillac-ish or less Saturn-ish?

It they can't make a real 3 series and G35 fighter in every respect they might as well make more Saturns. There's a review in the current Motor Trend of these two and if the top of line CTS doesn't seriously compete and win, this could be trouble for Cadillac. If 280hp is all they plan on doing in the CTS, this battle is about over before it starts.

Agreed. 300hp should be the "sport" model, and a 255 or 240 version for more economical minded buyers.
