I have a 97 Catera and the trunk doesn't open electronically at all but my gas lock is working properly. I ckecked the fuse for trunk and gas lock and it's fine. I used a scan tool and no codes came up. I replaced the trunk switch next to the radio and tried replacing the motor on the trunk itself but still no action from pressing the trunk buttons inside the car or on my key remote :mad: Is there a relayor fuse under the hood that controls the trunk? Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem - also the light went out in the trunk. Problem was in the wiring loom on the left (as you look into the trunk). Constantly bending the wires, I had two broken connections at the bend - opener and light. Had to find these and re join them.
