Who makes them??? NASA driving rules say they must be bolted down. Does anyone use one or have any recommendations? I want a behind the driver view looking out the front window so I can see all of my mistakes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can always get a 2x4 and drill holes in to to match the headrest posts and mount it via the passenger headrest. I've seen that done. Better to do with metal than with wood, but I've seen both work and it costs basically nothing.

I have made one for my car that has held a large camcorder through autocross events. It is a little fancier than a 2x4, but is wood and does
mount to the headrest bars. It takes only a few minutes to install or remove and leaves no marks on the car.

If there is enough interest, I'd be willing to produce them and ship them at cost. I'd have to find a supply of materials here, as I recently moved, but
I am sure the materials would be less than $20.

You can see video shot with this mount at Home Page (http://www.dsmbadkisson.com)
Right click and save as... Its ~20MB and can take 2~3 minutes.

Video looked pretty cool :)
Just an FYI I converted it to .wmv with Windows Movie Maker (in WinXP) and cut the size down to about 2 meg without any real degredation.

Maybe a little late...but for those who don't need a NASA required bolted system, I run a suction cup system that is amazing. Check out stickypod.com. I have used it hooked to the sunroof to get the over the shoulder look, and I can get the dash with the spedo/tach.
