I've heard that the Escalade has had improvements over the years, as well as lost features. Which is the best year for the best balance of improvements and features still available?

I would say 2003-2006, as they have the most in common. I voted for all of them.

Well, so far, 2002 is in the lead.. What did the 2002 have that other years didn't?

I don't know, but it didn't have HID lights or the Bvlgari clock that the 2003 - 2006 Escalade's all had. Don't know why everyone thinks the 2002's had the best features. I know it had a light under the hood, but that's all I can think of. Different consoles too. Aren't the steering wheels on the 2003 - 2006 Escalade's nicer as well?

Thanks.

2002 had nicer. more detailed speedo. I still vote the 03-06's though as 02 was the first year of the body style and I'm guessing improvements are made in the newer years.

I like the 02-06 models better because of the bold style and thay were different than anything else. I got an 06 because of the great ride and a good deal. Also the kids love the dvd player. This is the perfect car to take on long trips.

Pretty much 03-06 is all the same. You have the '02 loyalist that will swear by an '02. When it's all said and done, there really is not that much of a difference to really care. I'm sure we can get down to some nit-picky things like steering wheel, clock, gauge cluster, hood light, headrest, seat pattern but it's really trivial. Not enough difference to really care...i'd be happy with 02-06
