how to DISABLE Touch-Screen lock out while driving??

:rant2: This must be the most annoying security feature on the '06 STS. Sure it makes sense for many situations, but what if the passenger in the vehicle would like to punch in directions, or enable bluetooth, etc. The passenger-side airbag is enabled when someone 80lbs or more is sitting there, why can't the touch screen do the same??

Please, someone, SAVE US ALL!

Well we would almost certainly ALL agree that our strong wish and desire is to be allowed access at our choosing to all features.

The legal departments at GM/Denso however would probably argue that liability protection/due diligence is predicated on what "could" happen not what would. Just because there is a passenger up front doesn't mean they are the one using the systems features.

That said, hopefully either the pendulum will eventually swing back and we will be allowed into our systems like stand alone units. Or, a work-around will be found and made public.

But annoying it certainly is...:rant2:

You have to use an aftermarket device like NavTV to get around it, and its really just an auxilary input for the screen. I recently saw this product:
