: Advice? Body shop did something to my Sunroof...

After a week of waiting for my V, I picked it up last Friday.

Today was the first time I tried to open my sunroof and it does not work at all.

When I dropped it off it was fine, now it's shot.

I am sure I am going to get some sort of flack but perhaps not.

Any advice as to how I should handle this when I go there tomorrow?

BTW, they did a great job on my paint and bumper and they seem like cool guys.

Several V owners had faulty switches. Yours could be one of those. Be nice; it may not be the body shops fault.

The dealer would be my first stop - it's a warranty issue.

Agreed. Dealer first.

What type of body work was done - anything around the sunroof switch area? Checked for blown fuse(s) yet?

Oh, I'll bw nice. I find you get SO much further when you are nice to people.

It also makes it that much more powerfull when you go into "not nice" mode, after you have been nice. Know what I mean?

Any way, I had a feeling that was the problem. The body shop replaced my rear bumper and painted the rear right quarter panel. Nothing near the sunroof.

Interesting timing thought. I will check the fuses in the morning (didn't think of that).

Thanks,

If they disconnected the battery the sunroof has to be reprogrammed, I had the same problem when I piched mine up. He turned the sunroof knob clockwise and pushed up on it for a few seconds, then turned the knob the other way and pressed up on it. Works fine now.

Cool!! That did the trick. I did exactly what you said...

I held it in and turned it clockwise.

Waited a few seconds

Then while still holding it in I turned it all the way counter-clockwise.

When I put it back to the "neutral" position it moved a little (coming from the tilt to the closed position).

From that point on it worked perfectly.

Thanks again.
