Caddyv,
The wheels I believe are Asanti AF117. My friend is the manager of a wheel shop and they do business daily with Asanti so I got mine fast. Give him a call if your interested, he knows the largest tire width and offset you can go with without rubbing. Wheels N' Motion in Pomona, California and just ask for Doug and say Sean told you to call.

Black on Black and Chef, I have to congratulate you guys on some great looking blacked out rides. Many times blacked out rides look cheap, but both of those rides are nice. CIWS, the lighting on the large pic makes that the best looking Infrared V pic I've seen. Around sunset seems to be the best time for pics.

I had the stock V wheels customized at a local wheel shop. The outer lip (sad excuse for a "lip" :)) was polished and the spokes were painted black. I posted a thread about this when I had it done. I've had mixed reviews from board members, but I've received a HELLUVA lot more compliments from strangers where ever I go.

Here is a side shot when I first mounted the wheels several months ago. I've since blackened the side marker and added the homemade clear fog light mod. :

I dont have the car anymore but the rears were 10's w/285-35-19 and the front was 245-40-19 I think. Same Diameter as the factory tires.

You can remove the mesh from the from the plastic chrome surround and powdercoat it. I had 3 black options, flat, jet and glossy. I went with jet. I think it has the right gloss without being too shiny.

In case you are wondering what that thing is in the background of the V, it is a snow plow that hooks onto the front of a locomotive.

Nice V Ross. What kind of intake is that? I'd like to get something like that.

Its a custom 4" stainless steel powdercoated pipe with a K&N. I stopped using it because it doesn't have a heat shield yet to prevent sucking in hot air from the motor.

Is that an old Chrysler Desoto or Imperial in the background?

Maybe some photo tips from an old professional photographer, if I may.

* Look past your subject and review the background. I saw a number
of trash cans in some photos. You're showing off your car so try to eliminate parts of other cars and background junk. Close your garage doors so we aren't distracted by its contents.

* Avoid "Back lighting". Have the sun behind you. If you don't the camera gets fooled and over compensates. Your car will look dark, contrasty and a bit washed out. BTW Black cars are difficult to shoot. It seems to lose detail and is often contrasty.

* Think about your photo staging for your back drop. As you saw, some guys had some fantastic backgrounds! At the same time if the background is to dramatic and busy it can take away from the subject, your car. I saw some nice pics with large commercial buildings in the background. That can look very good. But be careful that the background is so big that it diminishes the size of your car and the building becomes the focus of the picture..not the car.

* Cell photo photos really suck. Wait until you can use a better camera so you can better show off your Cadillac.

I'm just trying to share my experience here and surely not intending to put anyone down. If you look at Sal's Calendar pics you will see some outstanding photos. I'm looking forward to receiving mine.

No offense taken. I ain't old enough yet to believe I know it all so I appreciate all input. Got some more tips?

Just a lil background on the "photo shoot". My picture is in the dictionary as a description under amateur photographer (with a new camera that has more buttons and settings than I know what to do with). Completely spur of the moment. My friend travels extensively and only Winter's at the house so I was surprised to see him home when I was driving by that day. I believed it was a big enough imposition to ask him to put up the guard dogs, turn off the alarms and let me take pics so I didn't go so far as to ask him to move his cars, trash cans, etc. or if I could come back at a different time of day.

Yes, that's a '55 Imperial. Completely original. Quite a looker. Obviously a Northern car evidenced by some minor rust here and there. The interior looked like it was still in the showroom. I never know what he's gonna come up with next.

Yup, they're the Mille Miglias. They came on the car, along with Dunlop WinterSport M3s - in August! Hence the GM accessory wheels (shipped by Lindsay yesterday) and new tires (already sitting in my garage waiting for the wheels).

There are actually 2 floating landing strips back there - the SARATOGA (CV-60) and the FORRESTAL (CV-59).

There. So screw your precious bandwidth...
It has nothing to do with bandwidth. Your comment was referring to pictures in the post immediately before your reply, thus there was no need to quote the pictures. You would have made your point better if you had just posted your smartass comment rather than needlessly repeating what we had already been shown.

My '05 CTS-V. I have a K&N air intake, Magnaflow cat back kit, Superchips Tuner (which eleminates the CAGS), GM wheelhop fix, FG2, moonroof, and an aftermarket spoiler for looks. Oh, I have an ipod device (as see on www.cadillacfaq.com) still needing to hook up.

I would consider lowering it, but there isn't a kit out that only lowers the car just a little. I don't want a huge drop.

I like the sleek look have the rearend of the car.. The spoiler kinda breaks it up too much!

They are 20x8.5". I have driven a stock one and I really can't say that I noticed a huge difference in the feel, aside from hard cornering. I do keep the air pressure high and to me that makes a bigger difference in feel with this setup (road conditions leave me no choice but to over-inflate)

Them tires need some love :DCatch 22: I don't take my V through car washes. We had just driven across country, through the Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone, the Tetons, and through Mt Ranier and a couple days in Seattle. When I got to California, I gave it a proper wash.

But, unlike some posters here, my car actually does things and sees mucho adventures...

Heres a few pics of my V and its new best friend. They currently aren't speaking because I've been driving the Jeep all weekend and the V copped a huge resentment:crying:. Ehhh you can't win them all...

Do I have to have the pictures loaded on a website for them to be in my post, instead of attached to my post?

Thanks man. I've been drooling all over the Jeep for months at the dealer. I finaly said F it and just traded my truck in. They're both a blast to drive, but they're both completely different animals:lildevil:. The nice part is when one is out of commision while it's getting work done, I don't have to drive some sh!t box renal or anything like that:cloud9:.

Actually, Some doucher rearended me.... Having the rear pass quarter panel replaced as well as the rear bumper. Having them paint the car MATTE black... Have these center caps:

The VR's engine is set back in the engine compartment much further than our standard V's for better weight distribution making room for a straight "ram-air" in-line air intake.

However, maybe you can talk "the girls" into installing it for you. :sneaky:
