Hi all,

I just got a set of the E&G Exhaust tips and I'm wondering if it's ok to weld them on using a mig welder? My concern is that I may damage some sensors or something on the vehicle from the welding current. Anyone done this? When people have gotten v-exhausts welded on did the shop disconnect the battery or anything special?

The E&G's came with screws but I'm thinking something that is a bit more permanent might be better, I'm worried about them getting ripped off.

I have a mig welder and have done tons of welding so that's not an issue. Most of my welding has been done on old beater 4x4's but the Caddy is a bit more of a concern electronically.

Thanks for any advice,
Robin.

You won't hurt anything, just a quick tack would be super and secure. You can disconnect the negative terminal, just to be safe, but I don't think its necessary.

I used the 4 self tapping screws. Later you can remove and re-sell like I did when I got my V Exhaust. When I first installed them one was a tad crooked. I loosened up the screws and corrected it. A weld is pretty permanent.
