Well this is how the story goes. I just picked my 1995 STS from the shop (alternator was blown). on my way home, I went to turn on the Ac and nothing at first then it kicked on. About 2 minites later I felt a slight virbration in in the car, then smoke pored through the vents and a smell of rotton fish. I guessed the blower motor was gone and turned off the ac. I called back the shop and told them of the problem. They think it is the blower motor as well. They also told me it cost an arm and a leg for the motor and has to be programed once installed. Does this sound rite? If it is what is the procedure to reprogram the blower motor. Please help its just not the same with an STS without ac:confused:

I've never heard about the motor needing to be "programmed". It only needs to be plugged in. I changed the one in my Deville a couple of summers ago. It was a tight fit but can be done in your driveway.

The motors are expensive though. Expect to pay well over $200 for the motor alone.

There are a couple of threads about replacing them in the Tech Tips forum.
