Just curious if you all have had the pleasure of using Zaino Car Pollish?

elwesso
03-30-03, 07:50 PM
Never tried it. Can you get it at autozone or places like that???

baco99
03-30-03, 07:58 PM
nope. you can only get it from a supplier or from Zaino Brothers themselves. Zaino Web Site (http://www.zainobros.com)

it's not a wax, but a pollish. and it works better than anything i have ever seen before. been using it on the SVT and the G20 for about 2 yrs now.

This is the second MI winter that my Vehs. have had Zaino. It lasts through the winter. Never had any product do that before. It is without a doubt the easiest and best product I have ever used.
I just ordered a porter cable orbital buffer to really clean and get rid of swirl marks. Only complaint I have is the Z-5 hides the swirl marks but they do come back.
Gonna get rid of those suckers soon.....

i'll get some pics as soon as it stops freaking SNOWING! will winter ever end?

Zaino is very easy to use. it is expensive, but works great. i used to use meguiar's and i think this stuff is so much better. it doesn't leave ANY powdery residue when you wipe and it's OK to get it on the plastic bits. you don't have to worry about baking it on in the sun. it LIKES the sun.

basically, you apply it in stages. i will start this spring with the clay bar (any clar bar will probably due) to carefully get impurities off the paint. then you wipe on Z1 Pollish-Lok and let it dry. then wipe on either Z2 or Z3 depending on the type of paint and let it cure for about 30 minutes. wipe it off and repeat as necessary. they also have a new product called ZFX which is supposed to cut the "curing" time down to a couple minutes.

another great thing is that you can apply things in any order you want. so if you'd rather start with the swirl remover, Z5, you can. then apply Z2, then Z5, then Z2 again.

the more stuff you put on, the shinier and more glass-like the finish gets.

i have a contact if you guys want to put a GB together.

(also, i did not come to this board to sell you all Zaino. just want to set the record straight. but if people are interested, i am very willing to pimp this product.)

elwesso -

i love the G20t. it's my wife's car, but it really is great to drive. especially on long trips. i haven't frequented NICO, should i check it out? i have been know to troll around freshalloy.com, tho.

elwesso
04-01-03, 03:39 PM
NICO is the best for infinitis. They REALLY know there stuff, and some of the people know so much I get confused. Even though it is for nissan and infiniti, there are a lot of nissan people that post in the infiniti section because the infiniti people know whats goin on!!

Word of caution: Make sure you do searches before you post a thread, they get a little testy about that!

baco99
04-01-03, 05:39 PM
cool! thanks for the heads up. i'll check it out tonight!

i posted a little while ago on freshalloy.com asking how to wire the lights so the foggies woudl go on without the headlights and after 2 months i finally got a roundabout answer. they are more into the "image" than the function of the car over there.

elwesso, thank you. I sell the stuff, and I was the general partner in the largest detail chain in the US for 15 years, we were a Meguiar's shop and the largest end user in the US for 10 years, now I just have fun and try to help people with their problems when I can. :)

Hey thats great!! Im sure you will be a great help to this board.

Have you ever heard of car-brite?? Its a company based here in indianapolis, and they seem to make great products. I used their polish, and it worked great. It didnt get rid of my swirl marks like I wanted to, but it made the color SOOO deep. My problem is I used a rag (clean, soft and very closely nit, as close to a application pad i could find) to apply it, and a terry cloth to take it off. Do you think that would make a difference???

Good quality towels (100% cotton), cotton wash mitts and 100% cotton applicators will help keep the light scratches and swirls to a minimum. You have two choices when it comes to light scratches and swirls, you can cover them up with products like Zaino's Z-5 (which fills the light scratches with synthetic polish/wax) or if you use a carnauba wax product they fill with oil, which does not last too long in the rain or when you wash your car. The other option is to "repair" the swirls or scratches, this is done with abrasive products like 3M Scratch and Swirl Remover, and it can be done by hand or with a buffer. Some Car Brite products contain abrasives, but they will give you a good shine, I did not find it to last real long in terms of protection.

I liked it, and I like polishing and waxing frequently anyway. So durability is not a problem.

So any cloth that is 100% cotton will give me as good results as using a applicator pad?? And then I just buff off with a 100% cotton rag? Sounds too easy!

I realize that carbrite contains abrasives, what is the bad part about using abrasives on the paint?

If you read any owners manual on paint care they tell you not to use abrasives products, this is due to the fact that the new paint systems are very soft, this is because all the environmental restrictions, abrasives will scratch and remove a small amount of clear coat each time they are used, if you ask me will this hurt my car or truck, and the answer is propably no for the short term, but over a long time they can. If your seeing scratches they could be from your towels, or your car care products depending on the amount of abrasives they contain. For polish/wax removal and or drying your car I use Cannon/Fieldcrest Chrisma towels, I find their quality to be very good, be careful of towels claiming to be 100% cotton from outside the US, because they are outside the US they do not have to be 100% cotton and no one ever checks, they can get away this.

So would you not recommend using that carbrite stuff anymore???

04-05-03, 08:06 AM
Wes, I always tell people use what works best for you, but know what is in the products that your using, and their long term effects. If you do not keep cars long it probably will not matter that much, I have 15-20 people a day stopping at my house for supplies and my cars are seen by many, that is why I am so anal about car care, but I would never tell you what to use or not use on your car.

I have used Zaino products since 1995, and they are the SHIZ-NIT! 2 Impala SS's 2 Camaro SS's , 4 Harleys and my Audi S4 either use or have used it. It works like a dream, looks like a show car and blows ALL others off the map. I HIGHLY suggest Zaino....

Nice stable you have there hcvone. How do you like your escalade? I was thinking of getting rid of my '03 ///M3 for the escalade. As far as wax goes I use griots garage. I use their car wash, clay bar (best I have used), fine hand polish, carnuba, and best of show wax and use their speed shine (quick detailer) inbetween. I've used it on all 3 of my cars and leaves a wet look like no other. I've heard zaino is really good aswell and was thinking of trying it on my elantra (test bed for new products) :bouncy:

I use the clay bar from griots garage as well.

I tried the Z12 glass polish on the back window of the wives 540. Alot of water spots that viniger would not get out. With quick use the Z12 got out 90% of the water spots on a test area.

Thank you. Griot's has some good products, I use some of them, but their wax is very average, if you like carnauba wax there are many that are as good or better like P21S, the synthetics like Zaino or Klasse will last 3-5 times longer than carnuaba. I am very happy with the Escalade, I will buy another for sure.

hcvone,

I am trying to get a Group Purchase organized for this forum would you be willing to help out since you are a Zaino dealer. I have access to a UPS hub at cheaper rates and i am in Hatfield/Lansdale area (309/Countyline). Let me know if you would be interseted. This could drive your business up plus I know a lot of people who would be intersted in trying Zaino in our area for added business.

Josh, all group purchases are done by the factory, we as distributors are not allowed to do group purchases or get involved in them I am sorry to say. I am 99% sure that Sal will not do any group purchases this year, but you are more than welcome to call him at 732-833-8800, or e-mail him at sal@zainobros.com

Hey Baco99!

I see you are from beantown, and a zaino user! I am sold on this stuff. Very easy to work with. I can't wait till I can strip and clean, clay, polish and buff my cars! I do what I can over the winter but you know what that's like :banghead: :bonkers: ! I am looking for a PC so I can learn how to buff. That will really turn some heads! Good luck!

Once the initial cleaning is done, ALL the other coats go on really easy! It takes the same amount of time as regular waxing (probably less). I am a fanatic and it takes be about 2 hrs. Last kit I bought gave me about 15-25 coats. I do use some other products in-between. Most of the time it is just a quick rinse with the hose and dry and it is good-to-go. I am sold on the synthetic wax/polish, it lasts way longer than conventional types.

It blows away anything Meguiars makes. I only got about 2 weeks durability from NXT and Zaino will go for close to 6 months. It looks better than any polishes I have tried too and I try everything that comes down the road.

Vinny 310 here... I bought a 1997 STS Black, the previous owner, while the car was up for sale, parked it outside and under a tree ( I don't know for how long). The car looked fifteen years old.

I used the Zanio wash and the recommended polish (several to pick from). I was just astounded at what it did to my car. The finish came back to "New showroom condition" It is easy to use and the results will turn heads. One important thing to make this stuff work for you and your car... FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTIONS if you do you'll be hooked, if you don't well what can I say.
